3 days in of playing Quordle and have only got 4 once and got 3's the other days, I'm using my wordle approach of using two words to cover of the vowels and some consonants, I think I need to add another one or two words to my opening to help rule out more consonants, my opening words at the moment are Route & Snail (lifted from page 1) Are there any suggestions for an extra word or two to add to these two?

Are there any suggestions for an extra word or two to add to these two?
I use:
ORATE
GUILD
SYNCH
Covers all the vowels and high frequency consonants. With Quordle, you are usually better to just use those three first and then start chasing words. You can usually get it in 7 or 8 attempts. If you start chasing words on your third attempt, you will usually suffer later.

agreed. i dont even use STARE as my first word now, i just tend to use the first word that springs to mind with 2 or 3 vowels that hasnt got a J or Z or Q or whatever and hope for the best.
same with my guesses, the final word today was the first that came to mind looking at my letters. i didnt really think it would be right but thought if i look more deeply into it and come up with an alternative, id only kick myself if it was actually my first thought 😀

Yes the last few words do seem more obscure. I got one in two and two in three though so doesn't seem to make it any harder.
Ultimately it is always going to be easy with a five letter word.

are you aware that you dont need to check with a dictionary? if you put in a word thats not recognized, it doesnt allow it so you dont waste a guess.

Don't think it's getting harder or more obscure. The list the who created it was about 2500 words long. Do you know 2500 5 letter words?
There will be ones you don't know or that don't come immediately to mind. We've had nearly 250 words already. I think it weighs be a challenge of sleeting asked you to write down that many!
Once I had my third guess for example today's word was obvious to me. Other days not so much.

if you fancy cutting your opening words down from 3 to 2, i tend to use RAISE and YOUTH as my two openers in quordle. theres often a Y in one of the words so these 2 get all the vowels plus a Y, plus common letters like S, R and T. wouldnt use this strategy for wordle, but works well for me in quordle.
still need to be lucky too tho 🙂
