I'm looking for a wool coat for myself as a Christmas present

I'm skinny and want something that isn't loose fitting

Tried a few on and Ted Baker seem like a good fit, I'm just not sure if they're good quality

Anyone know if it's going to last, or can recommend me another brand?

Donkey jacket.

Or are you talking about those funeral director type coats 😉

Yep I have one, Endurance IIRC, very well made, but then at £400 I'd expect it to be...

I've got Ted Baker suits as my daily wearers and they hold up remarkably well.

I could never spaff that money on a coat though, but if I could, I'd consider TB for sure. Bought an ex a TB coat; pricey, but brilliantly made.

They go for peanuts on Ebay mind, I was looking at selling mine as I rarely wear it and they go for about £40!

dunno where you're based, but a few years ago I picked up a Barbour peacoat from their outlet on Teeside - it was about half RRP and I've been really chuffed with it.

(I've heard the outlet might not be as good as it used to be though)

I've got plenty of TB, but it's gone a bit highstreet these days.

I used to own a Ted Baker long wool overcoat / city jacket. Not cheap but the quality was fantastic. I've always been a fan of Ted Baker shirts and work clothes because they fit my tall and skinny frame really well. Not sure what their quality is like now though. I always bought my TB stuff from House of Fraser but I know they do cheaper lines for TK Maxx.

Where are you Jools? Anywhere near Guildford or Windsor?

TK Maxx usually have Ted Baker stuff in for at least 33% off. Definitely seem some nice TB coats in there...

Have a Racing Green Peacoat I've had for about 15 years.

Not sure if the current stuff is any good, but this one's bombproof.

I got a beautiful Donna Karan full length wool coat from TK Maxx for £60. Possibly my best purchase ever.
