Off to Windermere this weekend with the OT. Not taking the bike so any tips on good stuff to see/do nearby? Have a car so don't mind travelling to local areas worth visiting.
Also, the OT is Coeliac so any gluten free places to eat that anyone can suggest would be helpful.
Cheers

There is a place in the middle of ambleside, think it's called Lucy's, that does a fair bit of coeliac friendly food. I think the owners daughter is coeliac or something. The food was very good when we went and my wife who is a coeliac appreciated the wider menu choice. It seemed to get pretty busy in the evening so you may need to book.

Lucys is good, unfortunbatly i think the rattle gill cafe has closed in ambleside might be wrong though,

Go walking, go out on the lake. peter rabbit museum, visit Ambleside keswick. Go to a climbing wall, go to a cragg. Lakeland wildlife centre isn't far away.

Hire a couple of sailing dingies and re-enact Swallows and Amazons.
