i find myself strangely drawn to him.....
like or dislike...??
does he ride a bike?
Like the guys humour a lot. Always have.
he does appear somewhat well balanced for a smack rat
Top class writer. Some interesting ideas and excellent writing.
My Idea Of Fun perhaps the best.
He rides a SS.
He's a cyclist and a walker. Seems like a nice bloke.
a good laugh, and may or may not believe that when you die you just move to another part of London.
also better writer than AA Gill.
Used to feel thagt I should dislike him on the principle that he was a smackhead, therefore a waste of space, but he's actually a very good writer, very amusing and like gecko76 says, an interesting thinker. Taught me not to be so prejudiced, didn't it.
Book of Dave is a real cracker. The butt is also good, but the stuff of nightmares.
hard work sometimes but i have gone back to his books again and again. His 'world' (ie London, the sealink club, dr Busner etc) is sort of fantastical but very err, three dimensional (?).
The end of the first story in the new book 'Liver' is a great suprise.
I like him. Good writer, very funny.
He strongly supported Tony Blair's drive to go to war over imaginary WMDs. Therefore I think he is a tw4t and don't like him.
great apes is, well, great. scale is v v odd.
Never been impressed by his writing but as a public speaker he is spellbinding, a very bright guy. I suspect that his writing is screwed by his confused politics.
That explains a few on here being Self obsessed...
Careful, Grizzly. You'll be called an 'apologist for murder', with talk like that...
Am I bothered though ?
BTW RudeBoy, who's your favourite murderer ?
great apes - genius work.
He rides a Brompton and loves it, apparently.
He's very opinionated but a very clever chap, in my view. Writes very well and usually throws up surprises when a new novel comes out. I've never seen him public-speaking but did see him writing a book in "real time" at an art gallery once.
Has his moments - but I think also has the tendency to disappear up his own butt from time to time..
Would that be the Butt of Lewis?
I like him.
He spent loads of money getting all the Volvo logos removed from his Volvo.
He was good on Shooting Stars.
He always seems rather self satisfied. Also, curiously, he looks like he died several years back, a thought I can never get out of my mind if I see him on TV.
