Staying at the YHA  @ Sill and heading over to Kielder tomorrow morning  for a ride around the water with my daughter, hoping to get an evening meal at the pub then find a spot with a view what are the chances of getting moved on?

No real worries ..a couple of places just off the main road are Elf Kirk Viewpoint ..just after the first visitors centre ( Tower Knowe )  on your left ...if you want to be closer to Kielder then turn in to the Sky space car park ( on the left just before Kielder Village ) and after 100yds or so there is a car park on the right up the forest road .

The Cheviot in Bellingham is good for food and the Co-op opposite stays open until 10pm should you need it ..The Pheasant Inn at Stannersburn is also good for food but a little pricier ..there is also The Blackcock in Falstone which is under new management ( so don't know what it's like ) ..

I would say that they are a better bet than the Anglers in Kielder ..

I've just had a terrific ride up there this afternoon on the Blue ( Osprey Trail ) & some natural stuff ..

Have fun !

Ps ..Elf Kirk will give you the best view..

Pikeyrich.

I'm sure you'll get a few hours before the eviction order is served.

Tarmacing drives and cutting hedges in your area.😜

Less chance after posting the question on a well known (but maybe not so well used now!) bike forum...;-)

Its a shame that the car parks at Bull Crag are no longer open.

Anyone mentioned the midges...... they will get rid of you before the rangers.

No mate they are small flies .

There are no midges at Kielder yet ..and they prefer still & damp to strong sunshine ..Ive lived here for 20 years so I do know the difference ..

You’ll be very unlucky to get moved on especially this time of the year. You’ll remember a few spots from the K100.

Glad you enjoyed it Mike ..I didn't get up there until after 1.00pm and only saw one other lad on a bike ..that was after the first section of the Blue when it comes back out onto the forest drive..he had just come down the Black off Deadwater on his Stif Morf hardtail.. and was wishing he had been on his Alpine...

The weather was brilliant today ..short sleeved weather ..is Spring finally here ?

Hope so !
