Nextbase cam. It was working fine with the nextbase hardwired kit for a month or so after I transferred it from my old car then stopped powering the camera. It's just a piggyback fuse on the cigarette lighter fuse.

Works ok if I use the cig lighter lead but not the hardwired lead. I changed the second fuse on the piggyback connection, still no luck.

Today I bought a new hardwire kit, plugged that all in - still no luck!

At a loss now, any suggestions?

Is the hardwire kit getting a clean earth connection to the car body?

It won’t work otherwise.

Could be this. I bolted it to the metal support for the fuse box, scraped the paint off too, I would have thought that would be earthed?

Find a proper earth use that. Apologies if that's what you've done.

If it worked for a month, it's unlikely to be the earth I'd think. If you've changed the second fuse, what about the first fuse? From your description that's the only untested component.

Check reports online, Nextbase Dashcams have a habit of going faulty. I'm on my second one, the 1st stopped working after 6 months.

I'm on my second since October and this one is playing up. It's impressive how it can come up with illogical and random faults.
