*whispers under breath to avoid attention - Dick Van Dyke in Diagnosis murder.
I know, I know, I've dropped the ball!
It has to be Bergerac.
I particularly liked the way that despite Jersey being about the same size as the park at the end of my road Jim was constantly finding villages that he'd never been to before. I thought that showed a surprising lack of imagination on his part.
Nestor Burma: sleasiest cases, hottest secretary, best car.
Munch from HOMECIDE Life on the streets!!
the Girl from Spiral
+1 Wire, Lund, Wallender
Uncle Monty?!
Indeedy, Inspector Montalblano..

Belker was a bit of a star, but in all honestly, it's either Regan or Columbo.
Ahh oldagedpredator just beat me to it
Best theme tune ever!
Detective Starsky & Detective Hutchinson & the best theme tune & the best car! In my (then 11 year old) opinion!
Was always Morse but wavering now towards The Bunk and his suits.
Banacek (admittedly he was a freelance insurance investigator not a detective).
What am I saying, Bergerac is the best anyway.
