Lady Gaga's got a great voice, Paparazzi really shows it off well, real character and flavour to her vocals (decent range too). But I find her stage show/persona a total turn-off, can't be bothered with bands who spend more time thinking about how they look than how they sound.

Shireen Laine from the Slingbacks/ now the Lumiere Brothers is probably my favourite female vocalist, she's just got such an expressive, varied, characterful voice. Very distinctive... Like a punk rock edith piaff. It does help that I used to fancy her rotten when I was about 15.

Woohoo, The Slingbacks get a mention. If we're going into obscure bands with female vocalists, there's Drugstore, Linoleum and The Julie Dolphin. Oh, and the Innocence Mission, and The Violet Hour. I can't remember the singers names, but I love all of those bands.
