The five live commentary on the world cup was pretty good. Robbie Savage in particular for his disarming honesty.
"Drogba is coming back from a shoulder injury. First thing I'd have done when I got on the pitch is rattled into his shoulder. Just to let him know what to expect"
Brilliant! ๐
Favourite commentators.......King Edwards.
Henry Blofeld currently entertaining me on Test Match Special.
Sod all use for actually telling you what is / was going on, but still a match report I look forward to.
Stuart Hall
David Bumble Lloyd. Shot away and very funny.
Jack Burnicle and James Whitham.
Martin Brundle
Did bumble ever get his lawn mower back?
Sam Leith from "Heat" magazine and "Ollie" (can't remember his surname) on Sky news at 06:40.
Two most despised: Both fat and ugly: John Gaunt and James Wale also on the same programme. Why DO they employ them? The Tweedledum and Tweedledee of arrogant, tiny-minded bullsh!t.
Walked past Gaunt as he was sitting at an outdoor pub table across from the office last week. Took the opportunity to explete something appropriate as I negotiated the pavement...
Peter Allen 5 Live - just on the funny side of being a miserable bugger but will not kowtow to the establishment in the way most of the mainstream presenters do. Not all fun on Radio 5 however, Richard Bacon should have stayed on hospital radio
Aggers and Blowers
Bill McLaren RIP, simply the most professional commentator of his time.
Peter Allen on 5live +1, proper curmudgeonly presenting.
Clare Balding can be very good too though a little jolly hockey sticks, having said that, Sophie Rayworth is the right kind of jolly hockey sticks.
Moody, Ryder and mamola, epic ๐
Sara Carbonero is indeed very pleasing on the eyes, but nothing beats the soothing tones of Pedro Delgado and Carlos de Andres during a cycling classic.
The Spanish equivalent of a Test Match commentary, perfect.
Phil Liggett & Paul Sherwen
Alan Green - best radio commentator on 5Live. And I know he has a huge fan club here ๐
