As with any van their are good ones and bad ones depends on time of build and who owned it previously, high roof and long wheelbase is better.

Very cramped engine comaprtment though and hard to work on, said the mechanic who looks after my non transit conect van, dont buy one.

Reduced speed limit on Connects if that bothers you (60mph dual carriageway / 50mph A road).

Think the door locks are a bit vulnerable - search for some old threads from user "couldashouldawoulda"

There not a bad van realy, they break a wire for the alternator and there were a few early ones with passengerside driveshaft problems
Neither dear fixes

Pig ugly, and struggle to do more than 35mpg
Engines unburstable not like berlingos or caddys

Would i buy another yip in a heart beat
As for the doorlocks use the blipper and hope the
Battery doent go flat
Passenger seats as hard as a brick

Think I'll steer clear then,if I'm going to take a gamble on a ford I might as well go for a transit then, thanks wysiwyg but I'm just testing the water and doing some homework at the moment, like project said there are good ones and bad ones think it's just luck of the draw.
I see a lot used as fleet vehicles which tempted me in the first place and I thought they must be good value for money.
I used to own a 52 plate transit but found it pricey to fix when broke, but then again I don't work much on vehicles therefore have to take it to a mechanic which costs dearly.

The door locks issue is more about ease of opening and a friend getting his bike nicked.....

http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/am-i-the-last-ford-owner-in-the-country-to-hear-about-the-tibbe-lock-picker

We nearly bought one (crew van or Tourneo with nifty sliding bulkhead to separate kids from bikes), and Mrs likes driving the LWB one they have at work. Went for a Dispatch Combi in the end as it was a bit bigger and less basic (and car / dual purpose vehicle speed limits for the Combi version).
