Hello all, been a while since ive been on here!
ThinkIng about getting my first motorbike, still yet to do my cbt, but weighing up options
Very much like the look of the ktm duke 125.
How much does seat height matter, im only 5,5
Any thoughts or other suggestions of bikes i should consider and why?
if you want a bit of performance go for two stroke. aprillia rs 125 or yamaha dt 125. both great bikes and lerner leagal. the rs does 100mph plus 🙂
Ducati Monster 696 , great for shorter riders , quite light and amazing sound from the V twin. Also quite cool.
An older CBR600 works well. I'm 5.4 and have had a fair few bikesover the years.
CBR600RR wasa bit tall but the standard cbr was/is excellent.
go to a bike shop and sit on a few.
Village idiot (apt name!) and skink, he needs a 125 bike, for his CBT, not a 600!!!! 🙂
Personally, I'd go for a used one, probably a cheap used one, as a first bike. There's loads about. 🙂
The ktm will settle on it's suspension, so should be ok. It is quite light, so easy to flip from foot to foot. I am only about 5'3. Or 5'4 and ride a bmw k1300s, just got rid of a yamaha mt01 which was 1700cc, so height is not always the issue
Sorry , miss read , thought it was first bike after CBT .
Its not just about seat height, but width also - you need to try them, and proper motorbike boots add a good inch 🙂
And beware of buying a dog if s/h, as nobody looks after a 125...
