Fully expecting the tube journey from hell this morning - had to get across London at 8am on a Monday. Visions of being crushed into a million sweaty armpits (as I'm quite short), horrendous queues, and reminder of how awful city living can be ...
... no! Got the tube from Euston to Waterloo - no queues at the ticket barriers, virtually empty tube train that arrived immediately, 10 minutes later and I'm at Waterloo station remarkably unsweaty and unruffled!
So where was everyone? I though commuter time on the tube in London was meant to be hell - was I too early? Or too late? Does everyone now commute on a fixie wearing skinny jeans instead?
they're all on boris bikes.

EDIT: or more likely: "8am? should have been at your desk by 7am if you want to keep your job in these trying times, sunshine!"
Tube got expensive, cheaper on a bike.
