At the end of the month I'll be going to the Friday part of the Hard Rock Calling festival/gig thing at Hyde Park. I'll get the train down on Friday morning and head home on Saturday. So I'll need one night's accommodation in London.
I imagine that a park's worth of gig-goers emptying out all at once will put quite a strain on the area's public transport so somewhere easy to get to from Hyde Park on foot would be nice. However I know next to nothing about London so I don't know whether that's even practical, let alone where I should be looking for such things.
Any suggestions?
Hilton's good for cocaine and hookers.
Or so I've heard.
I'll be watching the bands, not playing in one of them so that's not really what I'm after... Just somewhere not too scummy where I can sleep for a night.
Extreme roundabout bivvy?
there is an easyhotel in kensington thats probably reasonably priced and walkable
to be fair nightbuses in london are superb and any bnb will have a minicab firm they work with
laterooms.com and put Hyde Park as the location to search near. Sort results into distance - sorted.
Cheers! 🙂
make sure you tripadviser any smaller B&B type places - some of the ones around paddington / bayswater (ie hyde park) are nasty, think bed bugs and infectious disease in the bathroom.
I looked for a mate a while ago and the travelodge in covent garden was pretty reasonable - bit of a walk from the park though
Youth hostels are all over London
