Thinking that a short term interest only mortgage would permit Mrs dB to buy out her ex before selling, because selling whilst he is still on board will be a nightmare and bank won't transfer current mortgage into just her name despite her always paying it.

I used these when I needed a commercial mortgage. Mortgages for Business

They also do bridging loans/short term mortgages.

I found them to be very helpful and a lot lower fees than other brokers.

Thanks - looks like the sort of thing we'll need.

Thanks nmrn, that's possibly more like it, we're just trying to avoid getting trapped in paying high monthly figures as we'll be at risk of not actually being able to sell the place & gobuchul's options works out just as expensive as a repayment mortgage over 15yrs (we are both early 50's so unlikely to be able to get longer term std mortgage).

I use Vantage FS. They are based just outside of Nottingham but I've just refreshed my mortgage with them all o line/over the phone as we are in mid Wales

Geri the proprietor is ace at sorting situations out, like our mortgage before last which was a bit messy for various reasons.
