I know its a bit late to be looking but has anyone got any suggestions for a few days away at new year?
Somewhere in Europe
Not decided on a city break or something quieter, just looking for ideas

Madrid - it'll be cold but is a great city.
Malaga - might be warm, nice plce.
Vienna - freezing but so pretty, especially in winter.
Brussels - beer galore
Lisbon - good nightlife, weather good
I'm sure i'll think of more, just go where you've never been before.

I love Prague in the winter. New Year can be pretty mad in the city. Or how about a skiing break? Lots of hotels in Austria do ice bars outside so you can celebrate in the snow.
