a therapy dog? Are there any charities I can get involved with? Me and the wife have noticed a pattern of behaviour with him, where he gets really worried and beside himself around homeless people sat or lying in the street. It started about 3-4 months back in Ealing Broadway, before we moved back up to Sheffield, when he said hello to a homeless woman sitting on the street - she started crying when he gave her a fuss. Since then he gets desperate to say hello to them, today he started whining and pulling to try and get to a chap sleeping under a bridge. We've had a lot of comments from the homeless and others in general that he's very good at consoling people who are upset. He'll lean against them and will basically refuse to budge.

It feels like a waste to not somehow pursue it further, I've grown up with a lot of different breeds of dogs and have never had one that displays this kind of instinct/behaviour.
