The normal places just sell fancy natural stone stuff.
I'm just after traditional black or red door step tiles 15x15cm.
Any ideas?

Go to a tile merchant NOT a diy place. you want to ask for quarry tiles. RE's are the bull nose ones for the front of the step, REX are the double edged for corners.

Tile giant and CTD are always decent, you may even find something in Topps but they're dear without a trade account. Don't use ready mixed adhesive either
