I'm finally running out of beans after amassing a small mountain over christmas. I had been using hasbean but fancy a bit of a change, I've used pact but found that all their coffees tasted pretty similar.

What's good fellow coffee snobs?

Bonus points if I can get fresh beans delivered on a regular basis.

I asked Mrs S for a subscription to http://jamesgourmetcoffee.com/ for my 40th birthday last november.

I get two 250g bags a month, which tends to last about 3wks. Its been interesting esp as Im drinking coffee from beans Id never have considered before. Some arent to my liking, but Im testing the range of my tastes along the way.

I work from home, so dont get to nip out to Costa/Neros/your LCS like the caged animals that you are, so I like to have the treat of good beans at home, freshly ground each cup.

Sainburys taste the difference for the percolator. 2 bags for a fiver. Or Amazon for the dolce gusto caps. Judging by the responses I don't qualify as a coffee snob.

Still get mine from Hasbean.

Tried some fancy posher supermarket beans from Sainsburys and Waitrose, claiming to be fresh. Horrible. Not touching supermarket packs now and gone back to Hasbean. Some say it's not dark roast enough, but I like they way they do it, and a lot of their coffee has chocolate and caramel taste which I like.

As per Bruneep: macbeans.

They roast on site and the owner goes all over, checking out the various estates personally. Sell you from 125g bags up, bean or fresh ground. Been going to them for years and years.

Owner has always been very helpful and picks his staff with care.

Rave coffee. Decent price and the Italian blend suits my taste.

Also rate square mile.

Exactly why I stopped using Pact

I use Artisan Roast as it's local, but they do ship coffee too

John Watt in carlisle has a coffee club. They have been selling coffee for 150 years. I get a cup when passing by. Very good coffee.

I had three bags from pact, and was disappointed by all of them, so I went back to artisan roast. Their shop is close by, and every bag I get from them has been different, but always really good.

What's wrong with Taylors. Always on deal at Waitrose. I like their Rich Italian and their Lazy Sunday for work.

Rave's Columbian Suarez or the new one they've got from Papua New Guinnea, Elimbari A.

I avoid all supermarket or Whittards etc as their coffee is stale, been on the shelves or warehouses for weeks.

I've gone for York Coffee Emporium on a completely arbitrary basis.

If you're lucky I might even report back with how the coffee was!

Only one vote for Hasbean? They were always good when I was last living in the UK (8 years or so ago), as was Monmouth coffee in Covent Garden.

Nowadays I get the odd bag from Union or Square Mile, but postage is expensive, so usually Right Side in Barcelona.
