Ok in an effort to get some more miles munched i've conveinced the OH to get up early with the kids a few times a week enabling be to get up with the sparrows and get some miles in.
So if you were getting up at 5.30 and wanting to get 2 - 2.5 hours and be back by 8.15 when would you eat? a lot the evening before? A fair bit in the morning? or a tide over in the morning and the bigger breakfast when back from ride?
Riding wise it'll be either on the road bike or MTB depending what i'm aiming for...

I eat normal the night before then nothing in the morning with a banana about an hour in. Suits me
Pasta the night before, maybe something light (toast for example) 30 min before hand.
Binners - Brown Sauce?!! its just wrong!
I feel really weak on the bike with an empty stomach so I'd have my usual breakfast before hand and then something when I get back to replace the burned calories.
swimming and running however can be done on a banana and a cup of tea then have breakfast after I've finished.

No tommy k here, the beans provide all the sauce I should need without having to mix some rectal discharge into the mix...

I had a fair bit to eat last night (after a 1.5 hr ride from 18:00-19:30) including a big cake in bed 😛
Got up this morning had 3 cups of tea and a banana and went out again at 10:00 am and I seemed to be flying, espescially about 30 mins in. I had bags of energy and recovery time was short.
I think I'll go and get half pissed now so that I'm back to square 1 tomorrow 😯
Thats the spirit fella. I'm just about to have nice healthy tuna pasta before a night ride. Then its big unhealthy breakfast tomorrow and a ger big all day outing in the Peaks
