Anyone know what this is please? It's got the USB SS logo on the side but doesn't fit into any of my USB sockets.

it looks like a connector that has pulled the matching half out of another connector. What was it plugged into last?

Yup looks like a type A with half the connector from the other end.

Its a usb socket stuck on the plug. What have you broken?

Thanks all, that makes perfect sense. My computer case has had a broken usb socket on the front for years and I've never known how it happened.
