I almost bought a house once with the address of No1, Top O'th Heap which by any measure is quite "high"

Yeah, I lived in a flat on Sauchiehall Street Glasgow which was 1000+. Can't remember the exact number but was over 1000, across from Kelvingrove bowling greens.

I was at 1182 Argyle Street for a while, pretty much parallel to that.

Maryhill Road and Great Western Road must go well above 2000.

Nearest thing to a number was my room in halls at college. House? Never.

First address I ever had away from my parents was 42.

I'm not sure if its the same as the USA but when I lived in Whistler the first 2 digits were some sort of postcode. I never really understood it, your mail ends up in a post box 2 miles away anyway.

(just looked it up, they are the block number or something like that.) My point being that there wasn't 4212 houses before my 4213.
