In American films they have house numbers in the thousands.
The highest I've lived at is 402.
Let the house number willy waving begin.
I'm at a trade fair and I'm bored.

896. No one is gonna beat that. Unless my old next door neighbour posts...
1542... but it was in America.

Now all he needs to do is link username to Strava profile, find the privacy zone postcode and with house number, has full address...
A house with a NUMBER? I'm out.
690. Where my mum and dad still live
991 :D. Although mum has just sold the family home and now lives at no 31. I now reside in a No 4.
103

256a
in aberdeen, during the fuzzy art school days
103 as well!
2315. It was over the pond. Wasn't a house but one of them there 'apartments'.

I once bought something off eBay and the seller lived in a house so big it had it's own postcode.
13528
Also across the pond. House numbers weren't sequential but related to distance from the start of the road.
Highest I've lived at was 1264.
In Glasgow, which has some streets with numbers in the thousands.

Or just start a "what's your pornstar name?" thread...
My house is not a number.
I spend 2 weeks at 18925 every year - does that count?
(yeh, USA)
138 only one that was three figures.
I have once lived in a house that had its own postcode though
I had a 5 figure boat number when i lived on that - does that count?
72232 iirc
37 was on the 7th floor, does that count?
1613 Paisley Road West in Glasgow.
Our house is 780 feet above sea level, does that count?
It's certainly the highest house I have lived in
I seem to remember someone telling me that house numbers in the USA are so big because the first couple of digits are the block number if it's on a grid system.
In American films they have house numbers in the thousands.
Yes as above - the numbers are related to the distance from the centre of town, as are the blocks. A town will designate an area way out in the sticks for development and then put roads in that don't go anywhere - so that developers can buy plots and build without having to worry about access. Before the houses are even built these have signs at the junctions that say stuff like 'main st 15000-15100'. If a developer puts three houses on that block they'll have numbers like 15000 15300 15600 or something.
The empty roads that go nowhere make for a somewhat strange cycling experience when you are exploring ๐
Currently live at 6301 but work at 14901 on the next road across but 30 miles south...
4970 for a lowly second place. But that was in Montreal.
22. I've also lived in a no 11 twice. My birthdate is also the 22nd. I also had a gram with same birthday as me along with her twin sister!
How crazy is that!
twinw411, is it a free house?
i used to live at no 47, so did my mum, but different town/street, later within 2 months we both moved house and spent a few years at no 65, different town street
608. But it was a long road....
Mmm, I'm going to be arsey and say #1 (my current house number since 1992 & 1 of 3 in the area), as a kid growing up we always stayed in the country whether that be in Galloway or arse end of nowhere cottage, nr the scree hill, beside the burn, 20 miles from the nearest town, Argyll and as such all our houses (at least a dozen or so) all had names rather than numbers
650B
It really makes the neighbourhood come alive....
I'm pretty sure great western road in Glasgow goes beyond number 2000. I haven't lived there though, just sayin
1680.
But that was in the US. The road numbers there are like a grid-reference system.
Do I win the UK leg of this then? New bike please
this is the least STW thread there has ever been...

Snap, in Sheffield
Yeah, I lived in a flat on Sauchiehall Street Glasgow which was 1000+. Can't remember the exact number but was over 1000, across from Kelvingrove bowling greens.
53 or we lived in Top Flat for 5 years.
Number 2009. In London, not over the pond.
