I was going to type 'mildly pleasing you' but mine is pleasing me greater than mildly.

I've just had my first 'fish' finger sarnie since turning veggie thanks to birds eye's green cuisine range. I've been craving one for a while and spotted these in the shops today, they taste great and genuinely can't tell the difference. Just polished off two sarnies (council bread, ketchup, 2 waffles and 5 fingers in each) and I'm replete, sorry Binners I couldn't wait until full fat Friday

My new Rapha trail shorts.

Remembering bumping into a badger walking home through the village last night.

I've just found out that the bike I ordered with old Ultegra will now come with new Ultegra free gratis. Tale in itself that I've been waiting so long the that groupset was superceded but I knew I had a wait.

I definitely approve of a pre-emptive Full Fat Friday, particularly one iinvolving fish finger butties 🙂

What’s making me happy? The delicious smell of the beef goulash that’s been in the slow cooker all day that is going to be demolished shortly. I just need to make some mash

It’s definitely feeling like the onset of ‘comfort food’ weather. I love this time of year

Just logged into an online awards ceremony to find out if my firm will be the Best Will Writing Firm and I will be the Best Will Writing Paralegal at the National Paralegal Awards. To be a finalist in both is moderately pleasing. To win would make me very pleased.

Should find out in about an hour.

Being given a load of local monkfish tails that my wife has just made into 'scampi' with tattie wedges for tea. Was delicious 😋

I've managed to negotiate my pretty average 80/20 carpet of choice (plus cloud nine underlay, natch) down to £3,000.

For a 2 bed semi.

Three ****ing grand.

It was £1700 12 months ago.

But hey, hyper-inflation's not happening and who cares as long as house prices keep (pointlessly) rising.

God I'm in a mood. If you need me I'll be upstairs punching my pillow.

Had to ring my bell to warn 2 little lads of my presence on the bike path home. Now many miserable gits would put that in the disappointing thread, but those two were so engrossed in their scooter race, (heads down, so fast they were barely in control) it proper made me grin. 😁

More than made up for my account of the ride in on the parallel thread. 👍

Finished work for a long weekend to celebrate my dads 70th.
Wife went out for the evening so I’ve taken myself for a quiet pint and the pub jukebox has just played Hey Jude. And there is a pub dog.

C'mon then @NJA, how did you do???

I've just opened a beer, I shouldn't have as it's Thursday, but damn it takes good. And my new Kickr Core has shipped 😀

And of course, what day is it tomorrow? FRIDAY. And I'll be spending a large part of it up a mountain helping out my running club with the race we're organising this weekend.

I made a bbc good food tinned green lentil curry which was cooked in the same time as the rice and tasted amazing. The kids were asking for seconds before they had finished!

Discovering the existence of veggie fish fingers – thanks Houns!

Bach's Prelude in C Major played at slow tempo – what a beautiful piece of music.

Just done a hectic 4 days in a job I quite enjoy, although ‘hectic’ is a complete overstatement. Off for 4 days in the tin shed, no riding, can’t be arsed.
& beer.

I pulled up behind a transit connect earlier at a roundabout sporting a mildly amusing display of stickers. The Hope and Muc-off ones caught my attention followed by a christian fish symbol with the word Satan in the middle. Couple of aliens flipping the bird? Probably most enjoyed the ‘Shitbox edition’ one next to the transit connect logo. Brightened up the drive home anyway.

I’m fed up of the girlfriends lad beating me at Fifa.

I’ve bought a PS5 and my own copy of Fifa which arrived earlier, so I can practice at mine and kick his ass when I’m at his.

Loads of stuff!

Been off work all week.

Had a really good workout at the gym - finally managed to bench press a pair of 32 kg dumbbells which I haven't managed to do before - not for want of trying.

Picked up my Ducati from a local specialist who was giving it an eye-wateringly expensive service. However, he did find some things wrong with it that were beyond that (e.g. cush drives and rear sprocket on backwards???? That would have been expensive if not fixed).
Had a great ride home on the backroads - the motor felt great after having the belts and valves done, revved much better and the 3k rpm flat spot is gone. Forks were serviced too. Bike just felt amazing!

My girlfriend made us a lovely tofu katsu curry that was amazingly filling. Ate it along with watching an episode of Star Wars Visions which was great. (It's a Love Death Robots style Star Wars anime anthology).

Was meant to be bikepacking Hadrians Wall from tomorrow. However my pal changed his mind last minute. While I could have got annoyed and pissed off and did it myself (the bike was already packed up), instead he explained he was too stressed and a bit nervous about it, so we're going to Kielder Forest in the campervans for 3 days. At first I was a bit "meh" but then I realised all the stuff to do with the dark skies park and that there is good mountain biking there, so have got my hardtail and full sus e-enduro machine all loaded up and have my good lights charged. Even dug out my good camera and tripod! Have my packraft and SUP in the van too.

Am really looking forward to my trip - probably more than the bikepacking!

KOM'ed a new trail this morning (won't last long i'm sure but it makes me smile).

Looking forward to running a 9 beer IPA tasting tomorrow afternoon.

Knowing I get to take my boys for a ride on Sunday. Watching my kids get older every day still blows me away, and seeing their riding progress is stunning.

Went to buy an Ortlieb handlebar bag for my wife's bike but difficult to find in stock anywhere. Tried one shop which wasn't even a bike shop and they not only had it but I had used them before so had my details already which meant I then got 15% off. Not a huge amount but one of those unexpected little treats that keep you happy for a few hours

Strava trophies 🙄

Rode a beautiful old drove road climb near to me that I've had my eye on for ages. I felt crap on bike and seemed to hang up on every little rock on the trail (those wee rocks you never see because the grass has grown over them) and even rode out the last 500m on a puncture, pro cyclist style, out of pure frustration. So yeah, I earned that third place! 😂

Been offered full asking price for our house from a lady with cash and no chain!

Only downside is the people we are buying from haven't found anything yet.

It's 1991 day on 6 Music, so pretty much bangers all day long while I potter on building up a winch-and-plummet bike 😎

A new taproom opens near me this afternoon and it's 1991 all day on 6 Music, which is making me feel old and nostalgic.

Happy Friday

Waiting for the missis (she's poorly 🙁 ) to get up to put 6 Music on loud - next door have got it fairly cranked, so it's like a gentle preview. 🙂

I'm carrying on the Friday theme, its my last day at a job that I took in a hurry, I was being made redundant, I had a costly sick dog and I chose a job I was dubious about. It has lead to me doing lots of stuff I don't want to do in a way I don't like to work. I've got a week off next week then a replacement that I believe will suit me better (remains to be proved of course). I am looking forward to not having to plan things in Excel and focussing more on helping teams improve the way they work.

6 music in 91 is also very helpful.
