That woman in the Amazon advert who wanted to be an engineer.
Why are you using a ratchet spanner like a conventional one?

People jamming the local roads queuing for fuel - still.

The fact I agreed to an 8:45 Monday client meeting, what an idiot.

I have strong objections to people measuring 5.75mils. It’s 5.75 thousandths of an inch.

WTAF?

Well yes, I'm confused.

The second is a gnat's dangler shy of six thou, and the first is over half a centimeter, two rather different lengths all told.

BT.

Won't let me report a fault on my 96 year old neighbours phone line, as I'm not the account holder.

The document part in our customer case flow system is playing up today, which makes it tricky reviewing a case with 50 documents to find open, read and return.....

One mil is 1/1000 of an inch, commonly used in aviation as a measure of engine vibration, as aviation is generally imperial based.

@franksinatra that's odd. When I applied, I was told my HNC that I did 22 years previously wouldn't count as they had a 16 year (IIRC) cut off anyway, so I had to start at first year?. Which suited me tbh, as I really wouldn't have liked to have went straight into 2nd year maths.

NoBeer, my HND (that isn't actually a HND) is unrelated to my GA course and not a pre-requisite. I would have got a place on the GA even if I hadn't mentioned it at all. I was starting in Yr 1 so not trying to use it to skip a year. The issue isn't the lack of a HND, it is the fact that I said I had one when I don't.

Mother in law is in hospital with pneumonia. Due to Alzheimer's she keeps asking where she is and why she's there. My other half is in bits with worry whilst also trying to sort out a place in a care home. On top of that we have to deal with my brother in law charging about like a bull in a China shop, he desperately wants to get her house on the market, even though we're not sure when she'll realistically not need it. She's a hoarder and the place is not ready for estate agents etc and we don't have time to sort it out whilst she is around. Getting old sucks.

The idiot who parked their car in my numbered resident's bay.

Turns out a fellow resident (who doesn't have a car) said their friend could park in their bay while they went away on holiday. Cue them parking in the wrong bay entirely and sodding off for a fortnight with the only key for the car. Said neighbour had also forgot that they had told another friend the same thing who has parked in the correct bay and also taken their keys with them on the same holiday as friend no1. So we have a car parked in the carless neighbour's bay and one in mine, both with no way of moving either of them. As parking is at a premium here (1 space per flat, most flats have 2 cars plus currently 2 abandoned ones in the visitor spaces) I have had to park my car blocking the car in in my space. Cue a random person leaving a note on my car about blocking people in!

Idiots.

Finding out 3 kids in my daughters class currently have COVID, but that there is little to no guidance from the Government of keeping kids safe at school, school is doing best it can to keep distancing and control flow of kids through canteen, but opening the one small window in the classroom is not going to keep them safe.

No masks, no filters fitted to aircon etc like they have in Europe.

No I do not, that's shit.

Date is literally the only little-endian measurement we use and it makes no sense. You don't tell the time in seconds, minutes and hours, do you? And it's doubly screwed up when you're providing date and time in the same sentence.

You just need a copy of her bill, if you've got account details they'll add you as a nominated contact.

Aye, found that out now, but tbh this all kicked off as I was leaving for work, and I had to wait til I got there to do it, as my phone died on saturday, and I don't use a landline.
