Borrowed the first three seasons of Game of Thrones at the start of the month having never seen it.

Hooked, currently two episodes in to the third season, hoping to find someone we know with the other three seasons.

Also half way through the ninth season of The Big Bang Theory having started from the beginning in October ish.

I know neither are hidden gems but loving both.

Just finished watching Goliath and the third series of Ray Donovan. Really enjoyed both. I'm now on a weekly fix of Vikings and Black Sails whilst watching The Last Man On Earth inbetween.

Amercian Horror Story.
I though the first series was grim, until I started on the second series 😯
Need a strong stomach to get through it, but it's also addictive to watch so I need to finish it!

Been reading a lot of John le Carre books recently and watched the old tinker tailer series with Alec Guinness and the sequel , brilliant TV . Very low key and different to the modern stuff but well worth watching .
Vikings is good but I'm not sure as good as it was , preacher did enough to make me think the second series will be awesome and west world was pretty good as was stranger things .
Sopranos and the shield still the best for me

I lost track of the shield but my brother made me watch the last few episodes and it is awesome. Did need a fair bit of suspension of disbelief tbh but still.

Also, everyone who's not watched Oz, go and watch Oz. It goes a bit stupid in the middle and it's phenomenally grim, but as a whole it's pretty incredible.

Is it is as good as The Wire? Well, of course it's not, nothing is, but is it anywhere near as good?

Re the shield I think it's better overall than the wire as if has a more satisfying ending . It's also one of the only programmes I have watched from start to finish that didn't run out of steam , Dexter , sons , and nowmaybe Vikings and walking dead all struggled towards the end to wrap things up whereas the shield doesn't drop at all .
Honourable mention to boardwalk empire which I loved but I'm not sure is for everyone as it is pretty slow at times and game of thrones which seems to be better every year

Sick days recently I watched all of Master of none, it was good but if you have seen Aziz Ansari in standup then it's just a dramatisation of that.

On the train recently been watching Narco's - excellent. Black Mirror, very good recent series. Cuckoo which I missed on TV, but I've really enjoyed that too.

Just started Dirk Gentley's which has started well. Not sure I could watch American Gods, but I'll probably be tempted as the book was excellent.

If you haven't seen it then Justified was really entertaining too.

Interested in the Timthy Olyphant and Drew Barrymore Netflix thing too.

Veep is excellent, so can 100% recommend watching the whole lot. It's ended now, so you get a nice conclusion as well.

Veep is excellent.
Just finished Occupied - if you are OK with subtitles as some is in Norweigan - especially scary with Prez Fart in the US now.
Enjoyed "The Night Manager", "The Man in the High Castle" too.

On the advice of a friend I was watching 'The Wire' over Xmas and got to season five episode eight when Sky pulled the box set........fantastic entertainment IMHO but i was somewhat unhappy at the time. Alternative providers are not in HD and 5.1 Dolby surround if the episodes are available at all!
I would like to watch sopranos and shield at some point.

I'll 2nd Neb's recommendation of The Almighty Johnsons, that was a fantastic series, really wish they'd made more of them. Might have to watch it again.

Currently flitting between Sherlock and House of Cards and enjoying both.

Also currently re-watching the Wire when Mrs-g is not around and I am not allowed to watch the above.

Agree that the Shield and Sopranos are up there, also liked Southland which I think is very underated.

Six feet under, another under rated blast from the past that is top drawer, probably the best ending to a TV show ever, its been years since I watched it and it still sticks with me

EDIT - Draw(er)

Sky keep dropping boxsets that we are trying to watch - first Game of Thrones, then House. Loved House - brilliant but sadly gone for a bit.

Currently wrapped up in Sneaky Pete on Amazon - lots of little stories intertwining - brilliant...

Really enjoyed Sneaky Pete on Amazon recently too.

A few that i don't think have been suggested.

The Brink - hilarious american politics/war mongering p*ss take with jack Black, which i think is available on Netflix and Amazon

Braquo - great french gritty police drama.

Hell on Wheels - western about trying to get the rail road through the US, quite violent and dark.
