We haven't done one of these in a while, whats got your attention on Netflix, Amazon or telly recently?

I enjoyed Bloodline and Person of Interest on netflix, watched a lot of Sons of Anarchy over christmas - it is really, really awful but for some reason I keep watching.

This is Us on telly has been good, planet earth too but I guess that goes without saying.

What you got?

I got sidetracked into Things On Motortrend- lots of Roadkill and Hotrod Garage and the like, pretty simple pleasures.

But next in the Proper TV pile is daredevil, because my brother bought me it and I'll get killed if I don't watch it.

I really didn't want to like The Crown but it really is rather good with a fantastic collection of pantomime villains.

Really didnt think it'd be my cuppa but The Crown is not bad either.

and theres always Still Game to go at!

thats all Netflix, but I loved Mr Robot too. Not sure what medium its on officially but all available on kodi...

Just motored through the second series of Man in The High Castle (not bad) and decided last night, for shits and giggles, to see what Sherlock was like. So, despite coming into it at Series 4, I find it's actually not bad.

I'm going to potentially watch the rest of it now.

YouTube has been mainly Initial D with a bit of Roadkill thrown in for good measure.

I've just completed my second session watching all of Westworld, I loved that.

I've tried to watch Fortitude but it didn't really grab me as special or something to continue with.

The Young Pope, well that was abysmal. Jude Law was almost there, but it took too long to get going and I lost heart in it.

The Whispers I've started to watch, only into E2 but I think I'll continue with it unless it gets gory (which it started to in E1)

Delicious was, by my reckoning, a good short series. Initially I thought it all about shagging and panoramic shots of the Tamar, but it grew into a nice little watch.

Mr. Robot. Best thing I've watched for ages.

Taboo is also good. Mud, blood, violence and magic, just up my street.

Sitting on my hands rocking back and forth like a madman, waiting for new GOT and House of Cards.

Tries to get into Man in the High Castle, but only done a few episodes. Maybe I need to persevere ?

I'm half interested in Dirk Gently as a TV series, as I am the upcoming American Gods, but I'd invariably rather read the books than sit and watch stuff on a laptop (Haven't owned a telly in the past 10 years and haven't missed it)

The Mrs has got us watching Outlander, as a lover of Scotland and boobs it ticks those boxes very nicely. I think there might be a plot too, not sure yet.

Finishing off Boardwalk Empire in my lunch breaks, it's taken ages to get through the last 2 series

Sneaky Pete is on the list, and still haven't watched Stranger Things or the man in the high castle but will get round to it soon.

The Preacher - odd but excellent

Just started watching Sneaky Pete - three episodes in and I'm liking it.

Also, Unforgotten (series 2) currently on ITV.

We haven't done one of these in a while

We have, but anyhoo.

Everything on telly recently has been hugely disappointing recently, exceptions being Gomorrah, Stranger Things and Taboo.

The sooner that

a) the new GoT comes out

and

b) a time machine is invented to take me back to a time before The Wire came out, so I can go back and watch it again afresh, although it will basically ruin all telly for me from that point on (again)

the better.

Dunno if I mentioned it... Quarry on Sky Atlantic is superb. Up there with True Detective imo.
Nothing else has grabbed me, tried Stranger Things, Westworld and Mr Robot and found them very uninteresting (apart from Mr Robot, which was just stooopid "You've got a rootkit virus, I'll login as admin and stop it spreading!" Thrills.)

Every now and then, there seems to be a cluster of excellent TV series all coming along at the same time.

Internet catch up takes care of the weekend's viewing - currently Endeavour, Taboo and Homeland...

Somewhere between the two probably. But then I liked 2, but yeah it makes more sense than that. There was a 70s racism theme in this week's that just made your guts tie in knots with frustration and anger!

I think we're currently in a lull between those times

Dez - I actually downloaded the first episode of Quarry of the back of your recommendation last week. Yet to watch it, will report back

...and decided last night, for shits and giggles, to see what Sherlock was like. So, despite coming into it at Series 4, I find it's actually not bad.

We're smashing our way through them, started series one after Christmas and we've almost finished series three - really, really enjoying it (cringeworthy violin miming aside).

On a slightly different note, we've got a Tivo box through Virgin, rather nicely if you put a series link on something (like we did with Sherlock over Christmas), Tivo will go looking through other sources, so when we settled down to start watching series four, Tivo also served us up links to the first three series on the BBC and Netflix. It's very slow to launch, but I like the convenience - it's a function on the new V6 box (which probably does the same thing in nanoseconds), but I like that they've ported it out to existing customers.

Travelers was surprisingly good.

The OA was ace, hope there is a second series

Our favourite of the last few years is The Almighty Johnsons, it's a similar premise to American gods, but a chilled out funny Kiwi version. Gotta love the Kiwi accent!

Watched The Widower on Netflix over the weekend, based on a true story.

English version of Wallander being shown on Drama, maybe not as good as the Swedish version but the lack of subtitles helps.

Also watched In Plain Sight over Christmas think it might be on ITV Encore at some point, again based on a true story.

Started watching The OA but fell asleep about 10 minutes into it, whilst my other half watched the whole episode so I must catch up.

Hoping Person Of Interest comes back soon, just watched the first episode of the new series of Agents Of Shield, looks good with Ghost Rider showing up, driving a flaming black supercharged '69 Dodge Charger, a la Fast And Furious.
Recorded the first episode of Fortitude series 2, just finished watching Endeavour, then there's a whole bunch of other odds'n'sods.
