to settle a discussion, would it be homemade onion rings or fried onions.
Both? But make the fried onions shallots please.

Some watercress or a tomato straight out of the greenhouse, thickly sliced and sprinkled with a little crunchy sea salt.
Dammit....gonna have to be steak again tonight. This is getting expensive!

sauteed sweet potato.. creamed leeks and sweetcorn to go with steak..
E64, nowt better than a rare steak with "proper chips" but I say it has to be with [b]onion rings[/b].mushrooms and grilled tomato, washed down with a pint of White Hot from The Consett Ale Company. My mate doesn't agree and would prefer fried onions and he says most other folk would too.

I find onion rings are usually a let down, either soggy or really fat and chewy. So I'll go against the grain and vote fried onions 🙂

Fried red onion with a nice hot pepper sauce not over the steak but over the chips and mushrooms.
If the steak is big enough, maybe some oven roasted garlic, griddled asparagus and a few rosemary rosties
