First car was a Ford Fiesta 1300S (to my Dad's horror - he was firmly a BL man) - lovely car, I adored it and was gutted when it finally went. Different coloured-doors as they rusted badly but the rest was really solid. It was on 105,000 miles when the engine finally and rather spectacularly blew on the M1. Replaced it with a Ford Escort 1.3 Popular which was the worst car I've ever owned. Never touched a Ford since.
First car was similar to this. Mine didn't have the Fancy Dan rims, but was the same colour. 'Dysentery Beige' I think it was listed as:

First bike, in uber-rare Rothmans Racing colours:

usually I claim it was a Honda CB125 in blue, but that's because I'm still on denial over this:

Cossack 125
car was
[img]
which, as you can see was a complete fannymagnet
Trout - an SX200! I'm well jealous. My first was a TV175, bored to 200 and with a Wal Phillips fuel injector, ancilotti silencer and all the mirrors, florida bars, backrest etc. It was lethal and nearly killed me. I'd love another Lambretta, me.
First car was a Fiat Siecento Sporting. Horrible little thing but it worked.
First motorbike, I still haven't got mine yet. I want one, just won't be able to afford it and all the lessons etc for absolutely ages.
Zedsdead - That seat and pipe are the same as on my Gilera. is it one or something like a Derbi or Casal?
It's a Garelli Endurocross. Quite rare apparently.
oh i was offered a gpz 600r last week (not rothmans colours!) it was very untidy apparently. i declined.
first car was my dads 1983 fiesta in terracotta brown/orange. It had a rubber grommet in the floorwell to squeeze with yer foot to squirt the windows.
first bike was a 2006 cbr 125r.
First bike was Honda CB125....bag of shite
First car was Chevette........complete bag of shite

great fun. First car:
Also great fun. Like driving a roller skate 🙂
First car - 1955 4 door split windscreen Morris Minor. Mine was a wreck so ended up phone box red after extensive work!
First bike. Suzuki X5. Fitted KandN air filters that did nothing but make it moo like a cow! 91MPH lying flat on the tank! Oh, and due to some crash damage the tank on mine was blue!
1st moped in 1977 was a L reg FS1E
1st motorbike in 1978 was a R reg Suzuki GT 250 A
1st car was a Ford Capri
Here's me on my first motorbike (or legally a moped) - a Suzuki X1.
It ended up with a big bore kit and lots of other tuning and could do 45mph or so, although it blew up quite regularily! All the other photos I have are of me rebuilding the engine...
First non 50cc motorbike was a Honda CB125TB and first car was a 1000cc Mini.
ho hum
"How did you get a 250 as your first motorbike? Respect anyway because I can remember those things being extremely rapid, particularly when tuned"
I didn't start riding 'till I was 25 and when you passed your L test then you could ride anything you wanted...or could afford
First car - 1973 beige 1.3 Morris Marina. Yes it was sh1t. Luckily the next car was a mk2 Golf GTi.
First motorbike - never had one.
When I passed my test there was no restriction on what you could ride after.
I had a deal with my dad that if I passed first time he would let me have a go of his Bonnie T120.
I passed first time....
Man, what a blast! I have since inheritted said bike and I love it! When I die I'm going to get burried riding it.... lol!
First (road legal) bike (not mine in the pic) - 74 I think, TL125- I was 15, and got my licence on it. I'd been racing mx on 125's for a couple of seasons, and this thing felt, and likely was, slower than my bicycle. Tried riding a couple of beginner's trials on it, and hated them. Replaced it with a CG110 after it was paid off, which was a bit, though not much faster, and far better for riding to school.

First Car (again, not mine in the pic) - didn't get this til I was about 18- 1952 Morris Oxford- bought from a deceased relatives estate. A lot more battered than this, and primer grey.
One of these; not a particularly common car but reliable as and transported 5 adults and bikes from Bo'ness to ben Nevis on one memorable trip.
1.3 Mk 3 Escort estate.

A lot of fantastic stuff here!
DeadlyDarcy - SJ's were the tits, take that back!
Would have one now if they weren't all total buckets going for far too much money...
First car: '53 split-screen 2 door Minor, second car, '54 split-screen 2 door Minor, this time with 1300 A Series, van rear axle, 5Jx13 alloys and Riley drums on the front with a nice pair of reclining bucket seats. Lovely car. Someone drove into the back at 3am one morning drunk and wrote it off. :0(
stuartlangwilson.. I hate you. Mk1 gti as a 1st car! How did you afford the insurance?
LOL, i gave up beer and clubs, lived on rubbish food and used student loan and building society windfalls to fund it. Insurance was 1600-1800 a year! It was all downhill after that. Next car was a Pug 106 1.4 non turbo diesel. 50bhp! Then no car for years, now a very slow van. I don't think i'll ever love an object as much as that Golf.

Suzuki X7 in red as shown, 1978. Had quite a few problems with it but loved it. Pushed it almost as far as I rode it (not really). Once saw 105mph on the speedo but I am sure that it was ridiculously inaccurate. Deliberately I think as it was the first production 250 to break 100mph, allegedly. Quite badly built but I did love the little bugger.
1st bike was a (third of a share with 2 mates when I was 14) Honda C50
1st road legal bike was a Yamaha DT125E
1st car was a Moris Marina 1.8 Coupe
Hadge - MemberGilo - you mean you had one? The E looked stunning - discs front and back and those wheels mmmmm. I looked round for ages wanting a 250 but my dad wanted me get a Honda as he had a 400 Dream (yuk). I found loads of Hondas but only the one Yam which my mates mate was selling so I paid £400 for it and I loved it. They fetch really good money now but I'd love to get one. I did want an LC but they were a lot more money if truth be told.
Yeah, I had two air cooled RDs. Later had a 350LC that was superb until the crank snapped on a local dual carriageway with my girlfriend (now wife) on the back! Luckily, having ridden 2 strokes for years the reflexes in my left wrist were honed to perfection and I avoided us coming off. Rebuilt the engine with the help of a haynes manual.
Ridden 4 strokes for the last 20 years+ which make a lot more sense, and blow up a lot less, but I do miss the smell, noise, and powerband of strokers.
My first *ahem* car. Not mine but looked just like it once I finished doing it all up. Mine was finished in peppermint green and white.[img]
And this bad boy was my first two wheeled motor vehicle whilst living in Asia at the tender age of 28.[img]
Morris Minor for me. Fantastic
Lots of mods to make it go a bit faster.
It was 36 years ago and I still remember some of the part numbers - 12G295 cylinder head, AEG510 Camshaft Twin 1 1/2" SU Carbs etc...
Proton Persona 1.6XLi, 1995, 5 door, red (well, pink on one side as the previous owner had always parked it facing the same way)
Only got 8 months and 12,000 miles out of it.
Can't complain for £200 though.
ford capri 1.6 lazer
It was a 4x4 - but I don't care - far and away the coolest 4x4.
1944 Willys Jeep
mcmoonter - love the car!
My first car was also a mini pickup, she was know as Marilyn:
[url=
V8 SP - Pick ups were great. Curious location of fuel tank on yours.
I eventually did mine up with a 1400cc engine.
mcmoonter - yeah, the guy before me had put a saloon tank in the back rather than replace the underneath tank - yet another thing i had to put right in the overhaul, sadly i trashed it before I had a picture of it finished.
I would love a 1400 mini, i want a 16v KAD one day! You can see a few more pictures including my 1293 Cooper here:

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the RD50. Mine was the much sexier black variety. Just like a Fizz but without the pedals and raw power 😉
[img]
A [url=
DOT with a 197cc villiers engine when I was 15. It was a bit different to the Bantams the rest of my mates rode. Unfortunately I can't say that it was treated with any kind of respect.
