I've been wracking my brains to try and remember the name of a tv drama I watched a few years ago, maybe around 2015 or so.

I am almost certain it was on the BBC, and was about the UK government dealing with a pandemic type event - it was obviously before covid but the government and department for health were debating whether to shut the border etc, and gaming the pros and cons of that.

At the same time there was an escalation of the situation between India and ****stan (possibly as unnamed neighbouring countries), which finally resulted in a nuclear exchange. The UK government then went through a moralising debate as to whether they should get involved in the conflict, and the likely implications of that on the UK.

The whole program was interspersed with what looked like genuine BBC news bulletins reporting on each stage of the pandemic and then the nuclear exchange.

It was a bit disturbing but quite good, I don't think it has been repeated

Does anyone remember it?

There was a 2008 remake of Survivors (not the reality game show)

Contagion? That was 2018.

However, there was something older than that, i there were a few episodes with different themes. One was about grudlocked m25 preventing access to Heathrow or something unitil the air traffic control made a mistake.

It was weird, we were watching it wondering when the **** all the pandemic stuff happened.

As far as I can remember it was a single program, not episodes. Although having said that I can't be 100% sure.

This was kind of how I felt when I was watching it - it was like, how did I miss this in the new? Then you remembered it was a tv drama

Sorry that was me being unclear. I thought there were different episodes with a different disaster each. But they were totally seperate single things, just made in the same style to the same effect.

There was a scene in it towards the end where a cabinet minister was making the case for getting involved in the conflict. He described a situation where he had done something very dodgy as a teenager I think, and had been caught. However, his father intervened and managed to smooth things out using his influence and, should the boy choose, he could escape punishment for his misdemeanor. However he concluded that it was the wrong thing to do and decided to accept the punishment in the knowledge that he could avoid it, but it would be morally wrong to do so

Quite how he used this to make the case for going to war in the likelihood of it involving a further nuclear exchange, I don't know.

Wasn't that a Simpsons episode?

(It actually sounds like it might be Black Mirror)

End Day?

Was a docu-drama with lots of fake news footage on a few things that that could mean the end of the world - pandemic, meteor strike and things like that
