A proper mutt looking canine, but what on earth was it bred from? I'm guessing there is some terrier of some sort?

It looks as though it's a snowy, Tin Tins dog

Looks like a Golden Retriever got it's leg over somewhere along the line.

Reckon you're right on the Golden Retriever, but what else?

That's a proper Heinz dog.

It looks to have some Jack Russell in its face. I'm tempted to take a punt at some sheltie in it too (size, coat colour, fluffy tail) but the face isn't pointed enough.
It's a real mystery this one . . .

If he's your dog and you're very curious, you can pick up a dog DNA testing kit for £40-£60 (depending if it's on sale or not). We had Benny tested - he was described as a Tibetan Terrier cross by the Dogs Trust. Turns out he's half Tibetan Terrier, half English Cocker Spaniel (which explains a lot - we had our suspicions that he was a bit spanielly).

Once you get your results back, you can submit a photo with your test ID number, and it gets put up on the site. The results are fascinating (and occasionally quite funny)! Like this guy - http://www.wisdompanel.com/community/details/?DogId=36654
