[#7115069]

i was just looking out into the garden when i saw a hedgehog wandering about, but at first i couldn't' tell if it was a hedgehog due to the way it was walking.

Normally they're hunched down and low to the ground. This one was up on its tip toes and as it walked it looked like it was trying to flick something of its feet despite there being nothing there. From a distance it looked more like an armadillo than a hedgedhog.

Normal behaviour or something up?

Fairly normal if they want to move fast. Or maybe it was trying to creep up on a slug.

Hedgehogs will 'stand tall' when they're trying to poo. My aunt runs a hedgehog rescue and we've rehabilitated loads over the years for her and my local vet.

Grass was wet and he didn't want a soggy belly.

Perhaps he keeps spiking himself if he walks 'low'?
