[Closed] What to do with an old Apple TV2

I have an old ATV2 that is kicking around and hasn't been used for a good while. I've just booted it up and all seems to be working well but the only App I am ever likely to use on it is Netflix.

Can anything worthwhile, and legal, be done with this or shall I return it to the cupboard and forget about it.

Ian

Give it to me, I'm after a way of connecting my iPhone up to my amp for music! 😛

I'd take it to play actual apple Itunes films and stuff in the kids play room!

Edit - in fact I've emailed you

Aren’t they the ones worth a fortune as they can be jail broken?

At one point. I've not checked but I assume they're worth a lot less ever since Apple allowed you to sign your own apps to run on the most recent ATV.

I usually take mine on holiday with me, hook it up to the television in the room/apartment/chalet, use itunes to rent films. Your location for itunes is governed by you account country not your geographical location.

MSP - That's a bloody great idea. I'll take mine skiing for the nippers!

Remember any apps, ie netflix are governed by geographical location.

It won’t run apps so that’s not an issue, MSP

Ebay it, they still fetch decent money.

Thanks everyone. After a bit of investigation I have discovered it is actually an ATV 3. I think I'll take it to France with me when I return home and see if I can use it for a few films etc

Thanks again,

Ian
