Signed up to Prime this week. Pressure from teenage sons became too much especially with £20 off.

Have to wait till tomorrow evening and watch it with them.

No spoilers!!!

It wasn't on the front page so it didn't exist.

Ruddy entertaining.

Take Top Gear, remove the shackles of knobish BBC management, throw a ton of extra money at the budget and take it on tour..

It's ace!

Is Prime a one off payment, or is it yet another subscription service?
How much please?

Seems to have got good reviews (understatement) from the press. Not watched it myself so it's probably the most Jeremy Clarksonesque show, in the world!

Included in the prime subscription. £59 for the first year, if you're quick. Normally £79.

It's terrible, rubbish, same old same old. Simple right wing telly for stupid Brexiteers. Sexist throwback to the 70's, this sort of thing should not be allowed on tv.

Did I miss anything as I've not actually seen it.

I was all ready to call you a nobber MT 🙂

Slimjim's was the most accurate assessment. It's also available from the world's most resilient site.

You jest but the Guardian published a "review" by someone who hadn't seen it too so you are not alone.

Really, really liked that 😀

Stunning visuals, fresh look and adds new life to the show style. You can see the money on-screen, where it should be! A few (a lot..) of digs at Top Gear, as expected, and it looks like the roaming aspect of the tent could be genius.

Oh and if you can run the sound through a decent set of speakers, not the crappy TV ones. The sound is fantastic 8)

I'd grown to hate top gear for the last 5 years or so... same ole same old tired ....

I was ready to dismiss it.... but watched the first half last night, and the second half this morning....... Superb.

As has been commented... shackles removed, huge budget, visually brilliant filmmaking, great sound and the trio have energy and look to actually be really enjoying what they are doing which wasn't obvious at the end of Top Gear.

The opening sequence was brilliant work

Got my Prime sub yesterday at the reduced rate. Will have a look at TGT tonight.

Yesterday I watched the first episode of Preacher 😯 - that was pretty amazing. I've seen pictures of Arseface before, but feel like I misjudged him, just because he had a face like an arse, he seems quite a sensitive chap.

Looks like there is a fair amount of decent content on Prime Video. Will still keep Netflix through. They seem to compliment each other pretty well.

I wonder how many new subscriptions Amazon are going to generate as a result of Grand Tour, based on its reception, looks like a decent deal for them - Prime is a fantastic business, which generates high quality recurring income.

Hmmm. Got a Prime trial running at the mo (to get free delivery for my Zwift ANT+ dongle) so will probably watch this over the weekend...

I hope I don't enjoy it, because I don't really want to pay for Prime...

I read that Guardian review, apparently its porn for dads. Now either said newspaper is to busy finding new ways not to pay its taxes (bit like Amazon)or they really lead sheltered lives and that's why they wet themselves if that Neanderthal Clarkson says BOO!

any chance of a dodgy link, its only fair since the level of my taxes paid are disproportionate to Amazons.

The next day delivery service on Prime has saved us on many occasions already.
Add GT to the mix, its great value at £59.

Well after 20 minutes I gave up, the quality was just too poor so I switched it off it wasn't doing the cars any justice. The best stream I could get was SD and decided for TGT alone it was worth signing up to Prime. It was bloody awesome no way can the BBC match that.

Comment on Guardian review of the show made me laugh

It's a shame they lost Mary Berry though

Is amazon prime stuff downloadable or do you have to stream it? My Internet is so slow I can't watch video without it buffering all the time, so if it's like iplayer and I can download them I'll give it a try, if not there's no point.

Excellent show!

I had to pause it 2/3rds the way through for a conference call, but really enjoyed it.

Looking forward to the series..

Caught a bit of it lunchtime, its more like TG than TG only very obviously BIG budget, not that TG was small budget.

Whether you like it or not will depend on whether you liked TG, it's a bit refreshed, a bit 'variation on a theme' but mostly the same.

I enjoyed it.

Oh, sorry - not a spoiler at all.

I think much of the "fun" of Top Gear ended up being figuring out what obtuse phrase Clarkson had used in the show that would upset someone.

The last couple of series definitely had an "End of the Pier" feel to them, enjoyable but you knew what you were going to get, there was little of that "Ooh! I wonder what they'll come up with this week?" Trying to destroy the Toyota pickup was a great mini-series for example.

You can download for offline viewing on the Amazon Video mobile/tablet apps.

You don't have to - the Amazon Video app allows downloading (at the least the iOS one does, pretty sure the Android one will too).

You can definitely airplay downloaded content to Apple TV.

Admittedly, that is a bit of a faff...
