[Closed] what music do you like that not many people may have heard of?

A couple of things that relate to being out in the mountains:

Emil Klotzsch - Tiefe Berge a German sound designer for film who travelled through the Highlands making field recordings which he then processed in the studio to make this wonderful ambient album. Download it for free from that link. I've not looked him up for while but just seen that since that album was produced he's produced something similar from a forest in Germany.

The master of field recording is Chris Watson. He records sound for nature documentaries but also produces of field recordings which are structured into albums. Cima Verde is made from sounds around a mountain, a progression from 3000m to the valley floor. Okay, it's stretching the definition of music beyond it's elasticity for many people. It's more audio art.

Do I win the award for champion of the obscure?

Wow! - Creaming Jesus. There's a blast from the past. Saw them quite a few times. Awesome band. Any band that had a t shirt that said "skin up for jesus" on it was ok by me 🙂

Seen the brilliant Wig a Wag at the Festival Interceltique de Lorient a couple of times now, great live band, especially helped by gorgeous girls walking around handing out free shots of Paddy's whiskey 😀

I luv DCFC. Kath is one of my favourite songs of all time. There's some bizarro chord shapes in that song!!

I'll suggest Grouper for lushed out hypnotic loveliness. Also Warpaint are doing it for me at the minute

I'm going through a Japanese phase at the moment -

Sweet Black Featuring Maki Goto
Hangry and Angry
Mizca
Nana Tanimura
Heisei Ishin

Other bands/artists I like -

Kerli
Nemesea
Xandria
DJ Fei Fei
Hannah Pakarinen

There you go, something for everyone, ranging from easy listening right up to the downright wierd Japanese Visual Kei stuff.
