Can’t get over there for a while. Pretty sure it’s not a baby robin or a sticker. Doesn’t look like the grass snakes we used to see as kids and looks a fair bit bigger!

Ps lawns a mess but it’s not mine.

It looks like a python of sorts. Young, too. Possible albino burmese python?

Probably cold. Tell her to pick it up and bring it inside.

That looks like a corn snake to my uneducated eye.

Not native, likely an escaped pet, or one released after in got too big 🙁

Can't she do it herself? Who took the picture?

Unless the mil's back garden has blades of grass 1ft wide, that snake is tiny. And corn snakes are harmless. Get her to put it in a shoe box or any other container with some airholes, and get it inside in the warmth, and check with some neighbours.

I doubt it will have gone far in this weather, being cold blooded. The snake won't have gone far, either... 😁

My 11 year old daughter who has gone over for the day.

bluearsedflyno2 would happily scoop it up into a box but the m.i.l won’t let her.

Definitely a Corn Snake. Harmless, as mentioned before likely to be an escaped or released pet. Check with neighbours to see if its gone missing.

Looks like a corn snake to mee too, possibly a caramel corn or similar verient, common pets as they are easy to look after, I'm guessing it's escaped from someone's house.

Corn snake.

Criminals chuck them in peoples gardens if they’re still there when they come back they know no one is in.

Awww, where abouts in the North West? I'll go and collect it if I'm close. That's lovely.

Agree, it's a corn snake.

Poor thing needs rescued urgently. It won't bite and is probably used to being handled so no problem to pick up.

Well, alls well that ends well. The mil collared one of the neighbours who placed the snake in a box with a blanket and through a friend of a friend knows the bloke who owns the local pet shop.

The snake is now being gently warmed in a tank and being looked after until hopefully the owner is found 🙂

@tthew thanks for the kind offer, much appreciated!

That poor Corn Snake doesn't need a tank, it needs a plane! 😉

Not an unreasonable point of view Mr g0at.

Although I'm glad it's being looked after now.

It looks like a "sonoran coral snake". It is as poisonous as cobra and mamba.
