I saw a forestry job on Mull which is tempting, though poles apart from my current rat race job and probably a bit extreme in the other direction.

International Jewel Thief. But when thats slack I convert vehicles into Jiffy Trucks and now campervans. Can be interesting now and again. But for the main it's putting beans in the tin day in day out.

Product development, I'm reluctant to call myself a research chemist these days as a lot of what I do is closer to alchemy.

You need a degree, so that'll be 3 years and £27k now, the wage isn't worth it...

Currently sitting in a Village hotel wishing the kitchen staff had a cooking qualification between them.

You know those massive IT cock-up projects that squander millions of public pounds? I work on those.

Actually that's not really fair, I've worked on one that was actually a success eventually, and one that was terrible and I am expecting to hit the news at some point.

I am actually a programmer, not a middle manager, which is a bit better isn't it?

Yeah but at least the gyms are good and some have Starbucks in them. The one in Farnborough would serve excellent steaks with cold veg, and it would take ages.

I spent 8 months here last year, it looks like I'm going to spend another 6 here this time, in all of that time I can honestly say I've never had a good steak.

Gyms are good though, never been able to get on a spin class though. Closest I've got is 4th reserve.
