Any recommendations for an iPhone case? I've got a 5 that I want to keep safe when I'm out cycling / running, but I don't want the case on permanently - just as a precaution when I'm out being active.

The otterbox gets good reviews, but looks like it would be a pain to get on and off again. Is that accurate? Are there any good options for 'quite protective' AND 'easy to fit / remove'?

Go for the Otterbox.

Otterbox defender seems pretty rugged and easy on and off but makes the sleek phone a bit bulky and its nice grippy rubber makes it a bit of a pain getting in N out of snug pockets.

I have a Lifeproof for my 4S which is brilliant... I assume they are of the same standard for the 5.... Would honestly get one of these again, phone has been dropped and got rather wet and hasn't missed a beat.

Otterbox impact has always served me well on my 3GS. Just got one for my 4S.

I'm currently waiting to get one of these:

[IMG] [/IMG]

It's a Taktik 5 case, all aluminium construction, and waterproof. It's not designed for the phone to be removed, there's a matching belt-clip/holster that is designed to clip into a dedicated bike mount and car windscreen mount. The screen protector is Corning Gorilla Glass, the same as the iPhone.
I'm sure plenty will say its ugly, but I frankly don't care, it'll give top-notch protection to a very expensive bit of tech when I'm outdoors, and that's the only thing I care about.

Otterbox pretty good (I've got one on a 3GS), reasonably easy to get on and off once you've done it a couple of times. Bad points are that the rubbery finish attracts dust like anything and it's not waterproof. It's also a bit bulky once in the case but that's not a problem if you're just chucking it in your bag.

I'd probably try the lifeproof one if I upgrade to an iphone5, looks less bulky and waterproof.

I have the mbrmagazine / Wiggle neoprene case and its awesome. Protects phone, water resistant, keeps it warm when out riding in the cold.

I use this on my bike:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0057FJ41Y (note: not my bike in photo!!)

Tough, shockproof, waterproof and can be used off the bike too. Crap all use if you actually want to make calls mind you (unless you use headphones) but it is easy to get the phone in and out of it and it was only £20 when I bought it.

There is an iPhone 5 version somewhere.

I've just bought a Carbon Fibre leather case. It's very light and fashionable and very taugh case.
