[Closed] What flameproof iPad for a muppet?

I should never have gotten out of bed this morning.

I came home with my phone and my iPad. I grabbed some logs, put them in the stove then went up to the stables for a barrow load of logs to see us through the night.

I came back down and for the life of me I couldn’t find my iPad. I went back up to the stables searched the Land Rover, came down and searched the kitchen and laundry room.

Then.....I looked in the stove! When I walked in in the dark I loaded up the stove with my iPad sandwiched between two logs. It had a brown leather wallet. It was then that I saw the silver of its case between the flames

Muppet medal of the day is mine

So, what should I replace it with. I’d be content buying a used iPad to replace my old mini2, or would I be better off with an android tablet? I only use it for surfing and emails. Flame resistance would be a bonus

Flame resistance would be a bonus

You just need to develop a thicker skin.

I'm told this happens through practice, so if you want, every member of STW could personally insult you and thus toughen you up?

Dracs is pretty exceptional. Best STW browsing experience this side of the Andromeda galaxy. Make him an offer?

To be honest, if that's all you use it for then the answer is probably "pretty much anything." Hard to justify the price of a new iPad, I'd either look in CEX for a used one or come over to the dark side with an Android tablet.

Sorry, that's not overly helpful is it, it's essentially what you've said in the OP.

😀 @cougar!

As above though. Surfing and emails, whatever cheap tablet takes your fancy! Android offering more choice at lower prices, etc.

Laughs at Kindle Fire

Any recommendations for a £100-£200 tablet?

A waterproof tablet? But what wax will you use on it?

I have a tatty iPad mini 2 — volume button a bit wonky but could offload it .
Unless you want something a bit more modern!

If you’re used to an iPad mini, I’d replace it and your phone with a BIG iPhone. Since getting my 8 plus, my mini 4 has seldom got a look in. In fact I’m not sure where it is and have t seen it for. Couple of weeks. I’m pretty sure I didn’t set fire to it though.

I really like my Lenovo Yoga. Great battery life, surprisingly useful integral stand and speakers that are good enough for films or morning kitchen radio. As below (you can get 8 or 10 inch):

Take it to an apple shop and make a whining noise , works for some apparently.

(this is what I plan to do with my iphone 7 cos the ear speaker has failed)

@mcmoonter - get it framed and call it something like "The Reaction"

Sell it to a London based dealer for £££s

That is a muppety.

However: yesterday I got some ambient TV lights. Multicolour LEDs that come on a roll. What did I do? Got the scissors out and proceeded to cut the roll into four lengths for affixing to the back of the telly.
Bin.

You daft wazzock.

Amazon Fire HD8 just £45 today. Not an ipad, but does all you need, slower switching between apps, but works smooth once you're in them. Full HD for watching movies and the ads they talk about are basically just the lock screen when you wake it up, not affecting your use once it's open.
