Thinking about a Kindle or likewise, nothing mad, don't need a tablet or anything like that. What's good? I keep hearing something about the Nook

If you're happy to get your content through Amazon, Kindle. Of whatever flavour you want to pay.

To keep options open, go Android; the Google Nexus 7 is a great bit of kit.

Calibre will convert between all formats, so don't worry about that.

Kindles and nooks are good, and very similar. Others are not so hot, don't touch the Sony with a bargepole

Kindle £69. Cheap and easy to buy books. Does what you need it to do. If you need to read in bed with the wife nagging you to turn the light off then may be the Kindle paperwhite. I am just about to upgrade so I can actually do some reading at night. Don't get any type of tablet as they are all crap for reading normal paperback books, including all the Kindle Fire's
