MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
St Katherine's Dock, Wapping. Apart from the EXCITING ride to Waterloo Station in th evenings, I've discovered that this area is great in the summer for a strollaround, if you are an aficionado if ladie's "F*ck Me" shoes.
Saw a pair of Jimmy Choo stunners this lunchtime atached to a particularly photogenic pair of legs... 8)
nothing
Nothing.
I work in Warrington.
Its a ****in awful place.
😕
It's sunny
i like that i keep my own hours. just had lunch out on the grass by the church. lots of things to look at round ere too 😉
I can walk from my bed to place of work in less than 10 steps.
Friday afternoon hen parties....Yep Newcastle Quayside 🙂
Worthless without pics Mr Woppit.
I like the people I work with, other than management. I don't like the work, so I'm working my notice. Happy times!
Flexitime.
Just the right distance from home to ride in, far enough to actually keep my legs ticking over, not so far I die in winter.
The job does, in some small roundabout way, add benefit to society.

I'll see what I can do. 😀
It's my home. I come and go as I want.
I know what you mean about Wapping, got friends living in St Katherines Dock. Very 'Essex comes to town'.
Good to see you got a job finally woppit, what you doing?
i work on a site where about 2800 are employed.
assume half of them are women. assume 10% of them are good looking women. Assume 10% of them are REALLY good looking women.
I have at least 14 awesome girls in my office today. 8)
ps. pics are never gonna happen - I cant have another instance of that on my HR record...
I'm in Barnsley, surrounded by people with a somewhat flexible view of reality (on a professional basis). What's not to like? Oh and Woppit, God's watching you ogle them there ladies and their fancy shoes, and every time you do it, he strangles a kitten 😉
Geographically - not much. Currently about 500yds away from a murder scene (Bradford) 🙁

Postroom supervisor.
its 100m from home and i get to shoot around with blue lights and sirens 😉
Its a reasonable riding distance from home. The company pays for our 5-a-side football on a Monday.
The actual town is one of the biggest shiteholes in the South though (Gosport). All the women wear tracky bottoms and white trainers. (Apart from the fat ones - they wear miniskirts and boobtubes
When in the UK - It is my home so I get to see MrsWCA a lot
When in Switzerland - **** All
variation ... one day office , next day workshop , next day an oil rig .
im sure it will wear off ...
the bike shop never wore off after 10years till i got involved in a chain store - that sucked
location of office is piss - right behind bond choppers and dyce airport
I work outside all day and I am self employed so it's great!!
I have 2 hours 30 minutes left in my work before I leave for good!
You got to like that!
I work for a big FE college. Hours are good, pay is decent and my position is pretty well insulated against job cuts.
The very best bit is living 8 miles away on the coast. My ride home goes through the woods on a traffic free route and there's miles and miles of singletrack to play on. Today I will be leaving early, taking a hour to ride the trails on the way home and meeting my wife and kids on the beach for a bbq with friends.
what's not to like? 🙂

I work in Warrington.
Luxury..! I work near Irlam.
On the upside, the commute through the countryside twice a day makes up for it.
Minimal totty here, but I suspect I don't register on any lady-radars either.
yossarian - your life is perfect.
Please accept first prize. - oh. You've got it already. 8)
I get to make nice shiny bike bits so it's like being a kid in a sweet shop. Jobs are done on my bike for free and I get to see lots of new stuff. My local trails are very good and also very quiet - not bad at all 😉
yossarian - your life is perfect.
yeah, course it is 😉
Absolutely nothing.
The kids don't grumble too much If I slack a bit. Downside is no pay.
I live on one side of Cannock Chase; I work on the other. My commute on the bike is ace! Twice a day I have the terrible decision of which way to go...
Company really look after us - summer conference in Spain this year all paid for (with partners).
On a site near Delamere at the moment handy for a post work ride 🙂

The best thing is the view:
I was rather confused by the BMW Tourer there!
The best bit about my work is that at the moment Steve Peat is razzing his bike down a hill 5 minutes drive away from where I'm sitting 🙂
ogle them there ladies and their fancy shoes, and every time you do it, he strangles a kitten
<wanders off to ogle even more ladies>
The location sucks, an industrial area in Milton Keynes has little going for it. The company has it's perks though and the people are all pretty cool.

Our's is pretty cool really - nice view of The Tower, Tower Bridge, HMS Belfast and Boris's place.
I'm just round the corner from you in Thomas More Square.
Hang on, you're not IN TMS, are you? 😯
No - mine's the curvy building roughly in the middle of the pic. I do, however, live near you...!
I was also supping at St Katherine's Dock (the Dickens Inn) today, and it was quim-tastic!

Go on...
I'm in the village with the squareabout.
Dez - oops!
"I do, however, live near you...!"
Could this be the start of a beautiful bromance?
They've built a new BMX track 10 minutes up the road
I like that, a lot

Jealous?
Oh no, I was forgetting. You've got jesus... 😛
Yes, and he makes me feel all warm and fuzzy... 😉
Enormous explosions 🙂

Nope... need more clu
Oh and there was me thinking it was a well known feature....
Essentially I am in the Leatherhead suburbs.
Some nice people. We need more women though.
Our place...
Engineers: 10
Managers: 0
Housemartins flying round the yard outside.
Nice country pub just up the road, good pint of Butcombe or Wadworth's 6X with Friday lunch 🙂
Flexible working hours, reasonable commute, and my boss and all my team work in a different office on the other side of the Pennines.
I can walk from my bed to place of work in less than 10 steps.
Same here, although I usually detour via the kitchen and shower.
And being my own boss allows for cheeky midweek rides.
The scenery's spectacular, the people are generally very nice, I go home for lunch/tea with the kids every day, and I ride home late at night through a deserted glen with just the deep for company. Can't grumble.
cheap bike bits
that's about it really, staff are a nightmare, customers are a nightmare, but sure chatting about bikes can't be all bad either
TheGreatApe -I'm pretty sure you live near me, drop me an email sometime if you fancy going for a ride? Being new to the area I'm keen to tap into some local knowledge
A pleasant cycle in, almost road free.
Showers just along the corridors
Awesome 3D rendering technology of people's insides
Saving you, the tax payer, reasonable sums of money and prioviding a better service to patients (I know, how cheesey am I?)
Brilliant bacon rolls in the university canteen
Wandering into operating theatres and seeing people being worked on
Being involved with magnets strong enough to remove tooth fillings and pacemakers
Having my helmet (bike) CT'ed and x-rayed to check it for damage after I dropped it.

You an Ice-cream man Mick??? 😯 😉

Me too - although im prob 750 yds!
Free Gym, Free Coffee machine, Eye Candy, subsidized canteen ...
I like nearly all of my colleagues, the work is often interesting, they pay me regularly and reasonably well, I get free health insurance and subsidised dental insurance, we get Ride2Work. It's a lovely old building on Lincoln's Inn Fields. Yeah, it's ok here.
Work outdoors often in the countryside and get to play with chainsaws, diggers and sometimes boats.
The only bit pisses me off is i'm not entitled to c2w scheme and I really want a new road bike 😥
Good things about where I work
I get to mess about with bikes all day
It's 1/2 a mile from home
Good banter with the staff
Staff discount
Bad points
The 1% of customers who are ****ts & think they know it all
Having to repair BSO's
Chavs whose entire vocabulary consists of "this ****ing bike's sick mate" whilst squeezing brake levers & trying to nick the grips @ the same time, tossers.
Free Fruit
Free proper coffee
Showers
Sustrans cycle path all the way
STW all day
Spotify all day
Infact internet all day
The occasional cutie in the office
Pay
it pays more than the dole.
What I like about where I work....?
A great group of people to work with - helpful, supportive and pragmatic
A great location on the edge of the city centre, alongside a canal, so lots to see and stroll past
It is theoretically possible to pretty much commute the whole 25 mile round trip on decent quality cycle and tow paths to avoid the traffic
Don't start me on what I dislike....only a short step away from getting licenses for a taxi and a shotgun this week...... 👿
I get to sit on my arse all day talking about bikes, there are one or two nice bits of skirt around
I start my new job on Monday so i dont know yet, but it is a family run business and not a corporate hell hole like i just left. Plus i get to make core sampling drilling equipment!!! And i bet the wages clerk doesn't have a bad attitude and a side arse!!!
Only working half the year and only commuting once every 6 weeks.
Boobs- 2 in particular
boss came in 45 minutes late this morning, carrying a tray of decent coffees, and bacon and sausage rolls all round. What's not to like?
Get to ride an hour to/from work each day on off-road route alongside a river. I work in a cycling related job which also allows me out of the office regularly and buy bits at trade price. The people I work with are great and support each other. The money is ok, the last 2 years taught me this is not too important in the grand scheme.
I get to look at surf from my lab windows. Or hills from the other side of the building. Some terrific kids in the school, and the great majority of my colleagues are good to be with. Good pay, great holidays!
Down side- I feel that two, possibly three of senior management are really untrustworthy and sycophantic, and that the whole of the management team are almost entirely out of touch with the feelings of the majority of the staff. Which is a great shame.
I get paid.
I don't work long hours.
Erm...
flexi hours
no unpaid overtime
travel in opposite direction to rush hr traffic
lovely countryside canal bike ride to work
The 50 odd days a year holiday and the view over the Purbecks.
Yossarian - do i work with you?
