St Katherine's Dock, Wapping. Apart from the EXCITING ride to Waterloo Station in th evenings, I've discovered that this area is great in the summer for a strollaround, if you are an aficionado if ladie's "F*ck Me" shoes.

Saw a pair of Jimmy Choo stunners this lunchtime atached to a particularly photogenic pair of legs... 8)

Worthless without pics Mr Woppit.

I like the people I work with, other than management. I don't like the work, so I'm working my notice. Happy times!

Flexitime.

Just the right distance from home to ride in, far enough to actually keep my legs ticking over, not so far I die in winter.

The job does, in some small roundabout way, add benefit to society.

I know what you mean about Wapping, got friends living in St Katherines Dock. Very 'Essex comes to town'.
Good to see you got a job finally woppit, what you doing?

i work on a site where about 2800 are employed.

assume half of them are women. assume 10% of them are good looking women. Assume 10% of them are REALLY good looking women.

I have at least 14 awesome girls in my office today. 8)

I'm in Barnsley, surrounded by people with a somewhat flexible view of reality (on a professional basis). What's not to like? Oh and Woppit, God's watching you ogle them there ladies and their fancy shoes, and every time you do it, he strangles a kitten 😉

Its a reasonable riding distance from home. The company pays for our 5-a-side football on a Monday.
The actual town is one of the biggest shiteholes in the South though (Gosport). All the women wear tracky bottoms and white trainers. (Apart from the fat ones - they wear miniskirts and boobtubes

The best thing is the view:

And the lack of any commute.

Don't see many women apart from my wife - suits me.

variation ... one day office , next day workshop , next day an oil rig .

im sure it will wear off ...

the bike shop never wore off after 10years till i got involved in a chain store - that sucked

location of office is piss - right behind bond choppers and dyce airport

I work for a big FE college. Hours are good, pay is decent and my position is pretty well insulated against job cuts.

The very best bit is living 8 miles away on the coast. My ride home goes through the woods on a traffic free route and there's miles and miles of singletrack to play on. Today I will be leaving early, taking a hour to ride the trails on the way home and meeting my wife and kids on the beach for a bbq with friends.

what's not to like? 🙂

I work in Warrington.

Luxury..! I work near Irlam.

On the upside, the commute through the countryside twice a day makes up for it.

Minimal totty here, but I suspect I don't register on any lady-radars either.

I get to make nice shiny bike bits so it's like being a kid in a sweet shop. Jobs are done on my bike for free and I get to see lots of new stuff. My local trails are very good and also very quiet - not bad at all 😉

The location sucks, an industrial area in Milton Keynes has little going for it. The company has it's perks though and the people are all pretty cool.

I can walk from my bed to place of work in less than 10 steps.

Same here, although I usually detour via the kitchen and shower.

And being my own boss allows for cheeky midweek rides.

The scenery's spectacular, the people are generally very nice, I go home for lunch/tea with the kids every day, and I ride home late at night through a deserted glen with just the deep for company. Can't grumble.

A pleasant cycle in, almost road free.
Showers just along the corridors
Awesome 3D rendering technology of people's insides
Saving you, the tax payer, reasonable sums of money and prioviding a better service to patients (I know, how cheesey am I?)
Brilliant bacon rolls in the university canteen
Wandering into operating theatres and seeing people being worked on
Being involved with magnets strong enough to remove tooth fillings and pacemakers
Having my helmet (bike) CT'ed and x-rayed to check it for damage after I dropped it.

I like nearly all of my colleagues, the work is often interesting, they pay me regularly and reasonably well, I get free health insurance and subsidised dental insurance, we get Ride2Work. It's a lovely old building on Lincoln's Inn Fields. Yeah, it's ok here.

Good things about where I work

I get to mess about with bikes all day
It's 1/2 a mile from home
Good banter with the staff
Staff discount

Bad points

The 1% of customers who are ****ts & think they know it all
Having to repair BSO's
Chavs whose entire vocabulary consists of "this ****ing bike's sick mate" whilst squeezing brake levers & trying to nick the grips @ the same time, tossers.

What I like about where I work....?

A great group of people to work with - helpful, supportive and pragmatic

A great location on the edge of the city centre, alongside a canal, so lots to see and stroll past

It is theoretically possible to pretty much commute the whole 25 mile round trip on decent quality cycle and tow paths to avoid the traffic

Don't start me on what I dislike....only a short step away from getting licenses for a taxi and a shotgun this week...... 👿

Get to ride an hour to/from work each day on off-road route alongside a river. I work in a cycling related job which also allows me out of the office regularly and buy bits at trade price. The people I work with are great and support each other. The money is ok, the last 2 years taught me this is not too important in the grand scheme.

I get to look at surf from my lab windows. Or hills from the other side of the building. Some terrific kids in the school, and the great majority of my colleagues are good to be with. Good pay, great holidays!

Down side- I feel that two, possibly three of senior management are really untrustworthy and sycophantic, and that the whole of the management team are almost entirely out of touch with the feelings of the majority of the staff. Which is a great shame.
