As above, start planning the next trip. It's not that I don't like where I live and my life but its nice to have something to look forward to, even if its a little way off.

Look forward to the next.

Due to the timing of my kids' exams we get home from the Isle of Man tomorrow and head off for two weeks in Sussex 13 days later.

When I lived in Dorset I would go down the beach for a swim.  That doesn’t work in Hebden Bridge.

whenever I travel I hoover up local recipes and ingredients.  So a bottle of wherever wine and a plate of wherever tapas allows a transition to normality.

whatever you do don’t watch the news.  After a couple of weeks of remoteness with no mobile I picked up the tail end of something, that sounded like the prime minister had been shagging pigs heads!!! Surely not? Oh wow… I wanted to go straight back to outer Hebrides.

Remember seeing a meme a few years back along the lines of

'Are you even Scottish if you don't have Chinese when you get back from holiday'

Says a lot about our culinary style.

Picked up 3rd-degree man flu too for the journey home, which isn't helping me feel like being home is a good thing. 😐

I think I need a razz on the motorcycle. 😊👍

Sad to admit this but I go on a week's holiday next Thursday and I'm already dreading the thought of being back!

Pub. Decent pint.

(Yes I know all sorts of craft IPAs and pale ales are now available globally, but still.)

Book another trip to try and offset the post holiday blues

To try and minimise the post holiday blues we usually try and have the next but one holiday booked before we even set off - so even when you are heading home you can tell yourself “only x weeks before I’m off again”.

Very much that. We've always got several something's planned for the not too distant future so as soon as we return from one adventure we're thinking about the next.

Doesn't need to be big or expensive but as long as there's something fun planned then that'll do nicely.

Start planning another trip. Dreaming of escape from reality is half the fun.

I’m 10 days away from two weeks in the Caribbean, I’ll be struggling not to resign from work once home.

Driven home from 5 days at Loch Lomond today. Quite a large amount of the time spent stationary on the A66 and A1M was spent contemplating vanishing off the face of the earth on Tuesday rather than facing work.

Got back from amazing 2 weeks motorhoming in France a week back. Stressed straight off the back as it was blowing a gale and pissing down and the newly roofed porch had leaked all over my shoes. Unloading in the weather cursing UK summer and thinking about turning round and getting back on the ferry. House smelled odd. Not bad just strange as we hadn't been in it. Wondering if my house smells odd to visitors. Next was straight out to garden to check on all my vegetables and harvest loads of goodies. Feeling slightly better after that. Then a mix of loving having a whole house and nice bed but blues from being back to crap weather and routine. Next holiday not too long away thankfully.
