I fancy taking the family to the Lakes for a few days walking this summer. We will be camping the rest of the hols so I'm after cheap but decent family accommodation with good access to main hills.
Any thoughts? Cheap but good B&B, cheap cottage (!!), possibly some form of bunkhouse.

bunkhouse at causeway foot is good for the summer months.

Youth Hostel - I've used the Elterwater one on biking weekends with t'lads. Basic but good, top breakfast, and easily walkable to Brit Inn.

Ambleside YHA had a makeover and around £10 a night if your a member with lots of family rooms!

Hawksheaad or Borrowdale are great, activities right put of the door.
