Seeing as the what carpet for camping annoyed some on an an earlier thread, I thought I'd ask about 12v televisions for our caravan.
I've fitted a 100w solar panel on the roof and it's provided all the power we've needed when borrowing my parents old tele. Just wondered about what tv to buy so mum and dad can have theirs back. Ta

Running off an inverter or an actual 12V TV?

How about a tablet instead?

Not off an inverter. But off the 12v car lighter style socket in the van. Parents tele gets power from an old 2 pin clipsal socket which is also fitted to our van.

I read somewhere that most led/lcd tellies are 12v anyway and they use a transformer to get this when plugged in the mains ? May be wrong

Keep a lookout for the Aldi ones that they have in their camping sales. They do a good one with a DVD built in.

Type '12v tv' into Amazon. Take your pick.

A friend was after a 12v TV for his van. He found a cheap TV, chopped off the transformer and hey presto: caravan TV! No need to go for a caravan specific TV
