Visited the national mining museum at wakefield with the kids.
Topside stuff is great, just as the last shift had left it, but the tour of the pit was scary, humbling and emotional at the same time.
John, our guide, an ex miner, really brought it to life and I just cant put in words my respect for the men women and children who put themselves in these horrific conditions to make our country what it is today.
Next time i have a bad day in my warm safe office, i will be thinking of that.
Worth a trip, everyone must go and see what these heroes did and are still doing today.
