Nah, seriously, we're couldn't be more delighted. It's been a long wait, with some heartbreak along the way. It's been very emotional telling close friends and family - many of whom had given up hope of a wee darcy - especially with the arrival of a dog last year ๐Ÿ™‚ We've had a few scans and everything has been going ok. Had a midwife's appointment today and got to hear a strong little heartbeat again. You think you're a cold bastard, then you hear that and turn to mush. Finally got to tell two very important friends on Sunday and we all bloody cried again. ๐Ÿ˜†

Due date: Christmas Day
So it'll probably be a bit late. Either way it's going to be a busy Christmas & New Year.

My eBay browsing habits have taken rather a curious turn.

Superb news, Y Darc!

Now, start a "What tyre for my pram?" thread immediately! ๐Ÿ™‚

How did that happen?

Well, Cheesy, in the spring time, when a mummy rabbit and a daddy rabbit love each other very much......

I can't even begin to fathom what you were doing wrong to be trying for a baby and then expecting a dog instead.

Nonetheless, congrats matey.

Thats excellent news Bravisimo!!! I've always thought you look far too healthy. I look forward to stress and sleeplessness taking their toll, firstly in the form of hair loss ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well, as you know binbins, the grey has already set in.

WTF am I gonna do if I lose my contract as Clooney's hair double?

Well, obviously, it's Mrs Darcys!

As I've said to my wife repeatedly over the years "we know she's your daughter, it's only supposition that she's mine".

Well done DD. I see a future of bike seats and trailers.

Many congratulations to you both! I was in the exact same position this time last year - he was due on Christmas day as well and arrived on the 23rd. You will start eyeing up prams in a way you used to look at Ti frames!!

I'll get a mini Ulster shirt at the ready!

Cheers BM. We're really trying our best to enjoy this time. I think mrs Bravissimo will when she stops puking her head off everywhere. Hopefully, just another week of that now.

Really looking forward to our last holiday as a couple in France next week. And then a whole new world for us next year sometime.

>Hopefully, just another week of that now.

fingers crossed for you! Mrs NBT's sister had "morning sickness" the entire time. she filled a flower vase en route from home to the delivery room - and not with flowers, that's just all that was to hand "just in case" as they were leaving the house

I thought the opposite grum. I've always assumed that women could get preggers just from being in the same room as Bravissimo

That's great news. I know someone else who is due on Christmas Day - they too had a long struggle getting pregnant.

congratulations!

as a seasoned father of 6 weeks now I would heartily recommend that you savour the next few months of your current life. your new life will be changed massively, in some good ways and some not so good.
and unless you're a b**tard your life next year will not be your own, but at least you get to share it with someone like you.

(Jesus, I need a drink/ nap)

Cheers brakes.

I'm under no illusions about what next year brings. ๐Ÿ˜

And I will do my best to embrace the change instead of letting it get on top of me.

Oh I know...we're making a list and checking it twice.

Then giving it to my sister and mum. ๐Ÿ˜€

Nah seriously, that's good advice - lots of people have mentioned it, so we'll try to take it easy.
