You know; the kind of thing that pops up unexpectedly when you're looking for something on Youtube, or on an advert/film/tv show, Which you actually really like!

And disturbingly, this:

😯 Ifmy neigbour gets passive-agressive again about my music in the workshop benath her brat's bedroom, I shall fire up the big amp and play this...

That pac-man tune that jivehoneyjive posted on the song association thread is ace. Similarly, I once spent a happy afternoon exploring Chiptune after a mention by someone either on here or the avclub. Happy times..

also the weird, weird world of Tobacco (possibly "NSFW", as i had to log into youtube for it)

Couple of punks at work play this a lot, and I've grown to like it (and the band) loads:

A more innocent age when instead of happening across stuff in youtube you had to just take a random punt because the name or cover looked interesting and then a bus-ride worth of anticipation to find out whether you've just wasted your money or not. I bought the single of Desire by Yello because a) it had a little twisted wire ballerina on the cover and b)because it was about 20p more expensive than all the other singles in the shop and I felt compelled to find out why. I then spent the next year spending every available penny on their back catalogue as and when I could find it.

My most recent random stumble-upons on youtube are

Rhythm Schollar vs (insert band of choice)

the Coasters

Mulatu Astatke

I have to say that Yvette Cooper is much more impressive in this than she is in the House of Commons.

I'm not sure weird is quite the right term but I did always enjoy watching Later to see what unusual stuff popped up. I tend not to bother so much now but having never heard (or heard of) Fado, this made an impression.

saw this on some 2am dance music show and it scared me silly for some reason. Couldn't get the images out of my head and took me a few years to find out who it was......

Sometimes browse Bandcamp looking for "interesting" stuff.
Xina Xurner was a fine discovery (NSFW) 😆

That'll do ya. I don't think people who think Queens of the Stone Age or Biffy Clyro are "weird" could take much more. 8)

Not sure I really love these, but i quite like them. I honestly don't remember how I ended up here (probably just looking at the suggested links to the right of Youtube vids, starting from Alestorm):
Konstruct - Austrian Crossover band (like a mixture of Ledehosen, Heidi and light metal)

Potentially the best buskers ever! So not my normal cup of tea but at full volume this makes me laugh with happiness! Some of the noises the trumpet makes sound like a bull elephant reaching a happy conclusion to a pachyderm orgy.

I suppose by 'weird' I mean stuff that's outside of your normal comfort zone,non-mainstream and relatively obscure.

cfinnimore; I see your Einsturzende Neubaten, and raise you Nurse With Wound:

Musically, not that weird, but I stumbled across this woman, iamamiwhoami on youtube a little while ago - some amazing, weird videos...

Stopped watching since they stopped being weird. That latest one was her dancing about in bra and pants. I commented on Youtube to this effect and got savaged by her adoring followers (geeks).
