Long stay out at the airport? Wrong side of town for going south but probably one of the better options. Alternatively check the NCP, Glasgow City Parking or Q Park prices in the centre.

Free parking? Balcarres Ave. Outwith permit zones. Decent area. 5 minutes from motorway. Not high demand for spaces. 5 minutes ride from Kelvingrove.

When I need to do such things I park on Darnley road next to Pollokshaws West station and train into town from there - free ย but although its a residential area its a stretch of road with no houses along it because its at a fork in the railway lines so always easy to park no matter what time of day you arrive.

Slightly different start and leave the car outside my office in Stirling for the week? I'll give you a pass and security will keep an eye out.
You can scoot out to Balquidder to rejoin the route.

Gents - very very many thanks for the offer! As ever the forum is a delight in the kindness of strangers. Do I need to ask the 'what tyres' for the sake of completeness?

Matt - sadly/happily I'm joining a mate in Glasgow otherwise I'd be taking you up on it.

Maccruiskeen - can you take bike on train, please?

Very many thanks - always rather super when folk are kind.

All the jolliest

Paul

Maccruiskeen may have missed the question. Bikes are allowed on all Glasgow local trains, no booking required.

That said the train will only get you to Glasgow Central. An easy cycle to cross the Clyde is St Andrews Rd, Shields Rd, Seaward St, Paisley Rd, Govan Rd, Finnieston St.
