url "feature" not working, but this is much the same but for, err, local people

http://www.isleofwightweather.co.uk/StormVueNG.htm

What I'd like is a replay of last night's entertainment if anyone knows a site for that

Isn't it just a matter of waiting until tonight? I don't think a monitor display conveys quite the same drama!

If you use

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/observation/map/#?map=Lightning&zoom=7&lon=-2.89&lat=52.12&fcTime=1405630800

you can flip between lightning and radar rainfall as well

hit play at the bottom of the map and it will cycle through the last 24 hrs

I'm about 20 miles NW of you bigyinn - was fantastic

One of my kids slept right through it, with her bedroom windows and curtains open

the true geeks will be setting up lightning detectors (probably just a wire antenna or 2, a longwave radio and serial port?) and joining the detection network.

been using Blitzortung for years, and at this time of year, it's probably more reliable than weather forecast, especially to know if you're likely to get rained and thundered upon on a bike ride.
