C_G ponders whether to post up her two'pennyworth and annoy the ill-informed.

Less pondering, and more respondering.

TBH if you have an underactive thyroid weight gain/control is very difficult to cope with, having lived with someone who has the condition for 17 years

my nail/head was aimed at tazzy being correct about a over/underactive being a reason for weight gain.
not at the rest of this informative thread.

Been there, got the T-Shirt.
😉

However, unlike some, I won't go looking for excuses not to sort it all out.

Instead I've been listening, reading, learning and getting myself into line.

Its called discipline, and I prescibe a very large dose of that for those who need it......

we know but then you contradicted it by saying you just eat too much which is the cause for most folk.
I accept some people have a medical condition but the overwhelming majority are not ill or otherwise afflicted they just eat too much.

aimed at tazzy

makes a change, it's usually the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune that get aimed at me 😀

Not quite. It wasn't quantity, it was knowledge, or specifically, the lack of.
Which is an important thing to point out, as others earlier in the thread have mused about how to educate the masses....
🙂

Or to put it another way. To inform the ill informed.

Junkyard - nobody knows what percentage cos it's a battle to get it investigated. Far easier to label someone with depression rather than actually listening to what the patient is saying. The Royal College of Physicians state that only one type of blood test reading is needed to diagnose a thyroid condition.

Please don't judge.

This is what I've been doing with my health - taking responsibility for it. GPs don't like me cos I won't be fobbed off.

Jamie - I'm back in running mode after the injury and as soon as I can run 30km (Nov?), I'll find a 100km event to do

Unless it's doable on a road bike, this will have to wait till I get another MTB (not this year for certain). As only have the road bike at the mo.
