I'd worry that I'd wake up one morning on a container ship to China.

If it includes the site where the container sits it could be a bit of a bargain. A studio in that area is probably around £1500 PCM to rent.

The lack of sanitary things like a flushable bog, is quite worrysome.

Does one have to squat and poop into a bag, and take it outside?

Not sure that's peak London, more peak tory Britain in 2023...
Presumably no need for mains sanitation with Gove And Coffey new regs for town planning and water quality and sewage

Won't it be absolutely baking in Summer, and freezing in Winter? And damp all rear round?

Not to mention only a matter of time before someone helps themselves to any valuables with a portable angle grinder?

peak tory Britain in 2023…

Not wrong.

Surely we reach Peak London when someone buys one, divides it in two, lives in one half and sublets the other half for 3 grand a month?

You're going to be really disappointed when you hear how you can get into most houses... 🪨

I've just had my mum's house valued.

Three bed mid terrace, two large reception rooms and a reasonable sized kitchen. Same price as that, £75k.

That description is hilarious, especially so in the context of there being no bathroom 🤣

"...Empowered by this knowledge, you can effortlessly make informed decisions and take control of your environmental impact."

By shitting in a bucket and hurling it into the wasteland outside?

Unless the house is is in a realy bad area for drugs and crime, or in serious disrepair, £75k seems ridiculous. Are you Frank ghallager?

It's more than mine sold for, that went for just over £60k. This is for sale right now, right across the street:

It's not the most salubrious of areas but it's just poor rather than full of scrotes. I'd feel safe walking home at night.

It's what house prices are like here.

Is that from £75k? The pictures are mainly pretty but there's lots of you could haves. There's a couple of pics of the empty "house". Bet that's what you're actually buying.

interesting.

Looks aboveboard, as there is a "snoozebox" facility next door, but i doubt the land will remain undeveloped (im wondering if its a site ive done desk work on actually, i think it might be). So what does your 75k get you?

I suspect its a bit of scam, in that it gets you the shipping container (worth a couple of £K), but they could ask you to up and do one at a moments notice, when the planning for the site gets sorted out and the decide they want to put 30 stories of similarly sized apartments on it.

Wont be long before someone offers that Japanese style "coffin" homes.
In many respects i think im ok with it. You dont have to live there, do you? might suit some wannabe highflyers.

Plenty of folk live on narrowboats with not much more space. If you actually own the right to stay there and it’s connected to mains water, electric and sewage then it could be a decent option for a single person working in London. If they can force you to move your container at short notice then you could just be buying a nightmare. I guess the acid test is whether you could get a mortgage to buy one of these.

I hope the shitter is adequate to cope with that avalanche of absolute peak bullshit in the marketing blurb. Given there are pictures of a wine bottle, but none of the washing facilities, it's safe to say they haven't installed it yet, and are probably trying to work out if they can get away with a caravan style cassette toilet.

As above, try getting a mortgage.

I can see these being used as pads for people who mostly work remotely but have to come into the city for one or two nights a week.

I suspect they could ask you to move as well, like those "park homes" that seem to be unregulated scams.

I know this is a bit pedantic, but peak London was 2012.

On the downslope since then.

I suspect so, there will probably be a maximum number of days a year you are allowed to occupy the thing, and a stonking ground rent for all the 'services', so could serve as a UK address for various offshoring types.

Unpopular opinion perhaps but this wouldn't be so bad as a rental if you just wanted a clean studio/1 bed.

There's a sink in 3 of the photos.
